2001 crv with code alarm help
Hey folks,
I'm new to this forum and I had a question about my code alarm. I bought the car used and it already had the alarm so I'm not exactly sure which model it is but on the alarm itself it says ca400 which I have tried to research without any luck. The problem is that our remote broke and the system is really sensitive so it goes off not only everytime we get in the car but everytime a large or loud car drives by as well. So I guess these are the main questions.
1. Does anyone know anything about a CA400 alarm? (I've searched google and code's website with out much luck)
2. Could I disable it temporarily until we can figure out which remote we need? (because I've found the remote we have on the Internet but our system isn't listed under the compatible systems.)
I suppose that's it for now. Thanks for the help.
Robert

p.s. Just so I don't get any "all you have to do is change the battery on the remote" replies...i've already done that. And this is what my remote looks like if it helps. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/ima...1&s=automotive

there is a way to turn off passive arming. according to code's transmitter replacement book. there is no ca400. how did you find out the model number?? also...you mentioned that you found your transmitter online but a ca400 isn't listed, what alarms are listed

Its probably the Code Alarm Pro400. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Code-Alarm-P...item5ad39a282e
Is there a valet switch installed in your car? If so, you can put it in valet for now.
If the car is too sensitive, the shock sensor needs to be adjusted. Im not familiar with the alarm. I know some Code Alarm units have the shock sensor built into the brain. If its not, then theres a shock sensor that can be adjusted with a small flat tip screwdriver and its plugged into the brain.
