Alpine SEC-8047? SEC-8447A Remote HELP can't lock doors

Just yesterday my remote stopped arming and disarming the car. I think the brain is a SEC-8047 after doing some research on Alpine's website. I have a SEC-8447A Remote, it's the two button remote. I bought the car with this setup. Not sure if the remote lost the connection with the brain, but whenever I press to arm the LED lights up on the remote but the car doesn't arm. I really can't go anywhere since the handles are shaved and i'm dependent on the keyless entry. Anyone with ideas please help. Thanks.

Well, if the remote has lost its programming, you're going to have to get in the car somehow to reprogram...

BTW... Why is it that you shaved your handles but did not wire in an "emergency override" switch?? https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emhammer.gif

I can get into the car. I can't lock it right now. Its a SEC-8052 model. I'm thinking it might be in some valet mode, since the remote will set off the panic alarm. I also found the valet switch, but not sure how to use it. Thanks.

Ummm, I'm gonna have to go with FCM on this so I'll ask again... Why do you need to lock the doors if you have no handles??

But to answer the question at hand, you'll need to find where the lock wire from the brain connects to the lock wire in the car and verify the connection is good. If it is, then there may be a problem in the brain...

Even if alarm is in valet the door locks would still work.

Also is it an SEC-8047 or an 8052, most of the Alpine alarms with dual stage impact and radar, to go in and out of full valet just hold the valet switch on for a couple of sec. LED will blink on for 1 sec., the go into and out of armed valet use valet button on remote, whatever valet mode the alarm is in the door-locks will still work, [key-less entry] you can tell if you are in one of the valet modes by opening a door, LED will come on for a sec., the LED will also come on for a sec., if you are in valet, when you turn off the ign., there are a few other functions with the valet switch, I assume you do not have an owners manual for it.

The other problem may be the remote needs reprogramming, even if the panic works. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmileo.gif 94

Depends on model. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif 94
