Adding Aux to stock 92-95 Civic Radio
Hello,
I have a stock 92-95 Civic radio in my 94 Civic hatchback currently (example of the radio: https://offerup.com/item/detail/178259037/). I also have the optional Equalizer that is connected to the 8-Pin Din socket in the rear of the radio. The sound is great and I love having the EQ. The problem I am having is that since the stock unit is from the 90's, there is no aux/RCA port to hook my iPhone to. I commute long distances and listen to podcasts and audio book via my phone. I do have a cassette adapter, but there is a lot of static and the quality is not too good. I see 8-Pin RCA plugs that I can purchase, but that would mean that I cannot use my EQ, which I do not want to lose. I tried to solder in the RCA plugs via this DIY link: https://honda-tech.com/forums/audio-...-deck-3270236/, which actually worked well in my 1990 Civic stock head unit and let me keep my EQ functionality. Unlike the 1990 Civic, though, I was able to add the Aux, but I lost power to the EQ with this head unit. I found this 8 pin splitter and was wondering if this would allow me to add the RCA Aux functionality and keep my EQ working: 8pin splitter adaptors Y cable lead adapter fit Volvo H for sale

I would recommend an FM in-line modulator. Basically you plug your radio antenna into this box, and then plug the box into your head unit. When off, the HU functions normally, when turned on and tuned to a certain station, the modulator "intercepts" the antenna signal and instead supplys the HU with audio from whatever source you have connected (there are bluetooth and aux versions.) This is NOT the little cigarette lighter plug broadcaster style contraptions, it is a permanent install behind your factory radio to gain AUX/bluetooth and retain sound quality with all OEM features. I have installed many iSimple pieces like this one: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_541IS7...h=FM+modulator I know they make an AUX version that can be had on other websites too, this one is specifically for iPhone 5+. Keep in mind you may also need antenna adapters.
