I'm about to buy a 97' Civic hatch and I would like to to put a double din Stereo in it. Is this possible ?

Yeah, I decided not to buy the car and get a 99+ Civic ! So I'm still looking ! Thanks for the info guys !!!

i'll let you know now though, a complaint people have about the 99-00 civic is that they have crappy cupholders. so whenever you do get your civic, you might wanna start looking for a 96-98 lower center console. my 98's cupholders are great

They could be any worse then the cupholder's that were in my M3. I want the 99+ cause I can put a double din stereo in it !

Yep. Waaay to wide/shallow. Space between the seat and e-brake works better.

my civic came with an inset for smaller cups, 2000 model year. wanna talk horrible cup holders, look at the Acura 1.6 EL

I rode in a focus the other day that had cupholders built into the door panels. I was impressed.

OT (Sorry....): Do you know if that radio piece (that has the lighter) was available in the equivalent of the USDM Civic 2K "K" color code? What market had that piece?

It is part of the Canadian Acura 1.6 EL console. the center section of the lower dash, with the pocket and lighter, and the front half of the center console attach together unlike the civic consoles. It was available in grey. The beige is rare, the grey pops up for sale on here every once in a while. That picture is my personal car and I did the conversion.
