01 Accord radio fuse keeps blowing. (Factory radio/wiring)
I have a 2001 Accord and the battery died about a week ago so I had a friend help me jump it but ever since then, every time I try to put a new radio fuses in the passenger side panel it keeps blowing. I have tried putting it in both with the battery connected and without the battery connected but as soon a I reconnect the battery, it blows the fuses again. If anybody knows what the problem might be it would be a great help. Thanks

It's a factory radio? Double check the radio harness. Even though it's the stock unit, the previous owner may have hacked the wires and not properly secured it with heatshrink/electrical tape.

Yea, everything in it is stock. And I will check the harness but I doubt that he messed with any of it because we have a book logging every time he had the car worked on and all the maintenance was done at the Honda dealership.. If its not the harness then what else could it be? Because the radio was working just fine until the battery died.

likely there's a power wire touching metal, either within the radio or a wire leading to the radio.

If it keeps up, re-wire the radio ground, +12V and acc wires. Not difficult to do, and it will bypass the factory power fuse. Just make sure you use an inline fuse on the new wire

Disconnect the radio harness, Replace the fuse. If the fuse stays good then you have a shorted radio. Most likely the output IC internal to the radio has fried. Choice is to have it repaired, or replace it with salvaged unit, or non factory radio.
