Default Turdbucket EM1 *The NonBuild*

Compiling pics I have of my 2000 EM1, not really a build thread.

I've had this car since 2009 and have been back and forth on selling/keeping while still doing stupid little mods here and there. I don't want to even attempt to put it up for sale because the majority of todays Honda owners (kids) makes me rage and I would rather burn the car than interact with them

Anywho, this is more or less a chronological pic thread of the car since 2009

Let's start with the pics the last owner sent to me and "mod list" lol

ngine:
-B16a2
-95,000 original miles
-bronze valve cover with cutoff for cam gears
-short ram intake
-b&m fpr
-optima yellow top
-greddy ti-c cat back exhaust
-ngkr sparkplugs
-new fuel filter
-oil changed every 3k miles Mobil1(very picky about my motors)

Exterior:
-Electron Blue paint
-17" HP multi spoke wheels with new tires (90% left)
-Skunk 2 coilover
-Omni power camber kit
-blackhousing headlights and fog lights
-super white bulbs
-type r grill
-factory si front lip
-15% tint
-Led reverse and license plate lights

Interior:
-Stock front and rear Si seats
-Skunk2 weighted shift **** (grey and red)
-kenwood single din cd/mp3 player
-polk audio db series 6.5" component system
-polk audio db series rear 6.5" speaker conversion (factory 6x9)
-kicker 200 watt 4 channel amp
-car is wired up for subs

note the brake fluid. Dat leaking clutch line bruh

Upon acquisition, I fixed the bumper/headlight fitment. Lowered the coils and got it aligned.

Sprayed the muffler black

Bought TERRIBLE LCAs made by Blox (dont ever buy these, bushings were gone in 6 months, the stocks are actually back on with no bushing damage)

At this point we're at around 2010-2011 and things get a little fuzzy because I was no longer shooting pics on a camera and uploading to an imagehosting site and social media like facebook were starting to become the norm

now gotta hunt for these pics!

If my memory recalls for 2009 and 2010, most remained unchanged for the most part

I did replace the Skunk2 coil sleeves with Ksport full coilovers

Hilariously tried to roll and RADIUS my front fenders and failed miserable which led to new fenders and front bumper since I wasn't a fan of foglights and not having the center grill there

Changed wheels to a set of 16x7 ROTA D2s for that replica feel of Work Meisters with a part time college student budget nomsayin

Still in 2010-ish

Pic of the car waiting for new fenders and bumper

After new fenders/bumper....dat no foglight feels

(probably the best shot i've ever took in my life, i love it!!)

Apparently from some of these shots...

ARP extended studs on front hubs was added
Valvecover painted a terrible shade of yellow
Memoryfab whale ***** (remember these?? lol)
Cut opened the strut tower because UCAs were constantly hitting. I did this with the intention of making a custom heightened top, I actually still have the piece to do it, just never got around to it. On a bright note, it makes adjusting the camber while doing an alignment a BREEZE!!

At this point, I moved onto "power" mods

Looking at my old forum threads/posts, my goal was to hit 180whp NA

WHAT AN IDIOT I WAS HA!

Digging through Flickr I see a DC header that was at one point on the car. I actually liked this header alot. It probably made zero power but it was slammed ride friendly, this thing had zero scrapes

EDIT

Looks like at one point in 2010 I dyno'd the car NA

LOOK AT THIS MOTHERFUCKIN BEAST OF A MOTOR LOLOL

DC 4-2-1 header (2.31")
Megan resonated test pipe
Greddy Ti-C catback exhaust

untuned whatsoever on stock P2T ECU

What do you guys think my next step should be? Should I be dissapointed with these numbers?

Flickr search also determined that a Kiddracing header was purchased and installed

I actually remember this day specifically. I went to a performance shop to have it installed because it needed a specially sized flange on the back end so I had a high flow cat fabbed and installed as well

I remember going home and bottoming out on a speed bump in my neighborhood AN HOUR AFTER INSTALLATION and it instantly dented the **** out of the runners on the webbing of the block and the bottom part was toast lol. Thank god for amazing friends who welds (more on this later)

*Apparently I painted my valvecover wrinkle black as well

TO BE YOUNG AND STUPID LOLOLOL

All patched up

High flow cat....because IDIOT

Terrible picture of John at LHT Performance. Awesome guy/shop, truly a gem in the aftermarket industry

JANUARY 2011 YALL

It was almost tax return time and that meant it was BOOST TIME

Here's the rundown...

Cast log-style manifold (unknown brand) IF YOU KNOW WHAT BRAND MANIFOLD THIS IS, PLEASE POST, THANKS!

Garrett a/r .50(cold) a/r .63(hot)
Tial 38mm wastegate with "small blue" spring inside which their website claims 8.7lbs
Greddy BOV (unknown model) < How would I check for this?
IC piping (2 1/4" I.D) and an unknown brand intercooler

The Garrett is in decent shape, but I would feel safer to get it rebuilt. There is a bit of shaft play and the intake fins are rough. Where do you guys recommend I get it rebuilt? What price range do you guys think I'll be looking at?

I'm not even sure what model turbo this is. I'm guessing it's an t3/t4?(will post pics soon)

Fuel. What do you guys recommend? 440s? 550s? Will stock pump suffice?

Piping. Where can I get piping online? Bends, straights etc. My good friend will TIG all of it, so it doesnt have to come pre-welded

This will all be installed in my EM1 with the stock b16a2 and at all cost ac must be retained, with that said, will a 2.5" downpipe clear?
Anything else you guys would like to add, please feel free

Thanks!!

edit, pics

UPDATE 1
Picked up some RC 550s today, dropped it off at the turbo shop to get cleaned and flow tested.

Good and bad news for the turbo. Good news is the housings arent damaged, the bad news is someone before me that had the turbo had it rebuilt by a shoddy *** shop. Apparently the turbine wheel isn't even a garrett part, it's a knockoff. He'll give me estimates tomorrow

UPDATE 2
Bought the Walbro 255 and a whole bunch of turbo gaskets, downpipe flange and piping

Still waiting to hear from the turbo shop on the extent of the rebuild

UPDATE 3
Sent my ecu off to get chipped and get a basemap today

This turbo is kicking my ***. For some reason the last shop that did the rebuilt, gipped the **** out of the last owner and put a Master Power turbine wheel/shaft and exhaust housing.

Now my shop is trying to find a garrett shaft/turbine wheel that will fit this housing but no luck thus far.

He's also trying to find the rebuild parts from Master Power for plan B if he can't find find a garrett shaft that will fit.

UPDATE 4
Parts from Treadstone came in today!! Damn that was fast!
misc gaskets, flanges,Tial .5 bar wastegate spring

GUYS I NEED YOUR HELP
This is all the piping that came with my IC. IS THIS ENOUGH?? Do I need to buy any more piping?

Also the smaller 90 degree bend is 2.5" dia while the rest is 2.25" WTF, can I make this work? What should I scrap and keep?

IF worse comes to worse I have to buy a new turbo. Which of these is the best for the price?

Question is...which? Are these both AC friendly with the log?

The build was on for the boost kit

Everything was done at/with the help of one of my very good friend who is a welder by trade. Everything was done on the driveway....EVERYTHING

no paying a shop and droppping the car off, sweat, blood and tears and **** ton of greasy/dirty days that turns into nights on your back under the car

Friends come and go but GREAT friends become family and you never let them go no matter what life throws at you. This dude single handedly helped me from the smallest to the biggest (and stupidest) things I've ever done to this car

Car was running and tuned at this point. Went to a friends shop to pick up some oil/boost gauges

Got the car tuned and dyno'd thanks to Phearable.net aka John Vega

This was at about 10lbs with the old 2.25" downpipe, high flow cat and catback

More of less the car stayed the same under the hood.

Less than 6 months after it was tuned, I went to a full 3" exhaust setup (downpipe, no cat, full 3" straight pipe)

This actually was the first of I believe 5 downpipes the car went through since I was so damn slammed and I kept ruining one after another (STUPID)

The midpipe is actually a Thermal unit and the axleback is custom mated to a universal Buddyclub Spec III muffler

by FAR my most favorite part on my car. Big shout out to my good friend for helping me and making this beautiful piece AND workin til midnight on it!

Tragedy struck!!

I was cruising on the interstate to go to school (university) and all of a sudden I heard a loud pop. Went to take the shifter out of gear and realized the linkage was no longer connected to anything.

Pulled over and saw a grapefruit sized hole on the tranny, whoops

back at it

The original EM1 transmission was then replaced by a used GSR transmission which have been rebuilt with a oem ITR LSD and carbon synchros

We're at 2012-2013 now and tbh I don't remember anything happening in 2012. Pretty damn busy year, finally graduated college and got my B.A...got my first full time job etcetc

For 2013.....

the car came originally with a ACT stage 3 clutch and flywheel if I remember correctly. When the tranny blew up, everything was still in good shape as far as the clutch/pp/flywheel is concerned so it all went to the new tranny. I was also strapped for cash at the time having to get a new-used tranny

i HATED this combo, pedal was so goddamn heavy my left calf muscle was huge. This took a toll on the shift fork and one day, it pretty much said fk you

Clutch and PP was replaced with an Exedy Stage 1 and my calf have been happy ever since!

Totally stumbled on some pics of your car online the other day while Google trolling. Looking to copy your XXR setup because of the whole broke grad student thing.

Your car looks great by the way. Keep up the good work.

Thanks everyone
So we're approaching present day status of the car

Again ,not alot of major changes

I did get a new dumptube design for the wastegate and eliminated power steering

I didnt really need power steering anymore since yet another acquisition of wheels, my favorite ones yet
