That moment when you click on the Appearance Build Threads sub forum and see that a new SHG build thread has been posted...

Re: SHG has another - JDM DC2R- Project/Restoration/Build
Saw the thread title included "SHG" and "DC2R", sub'd without even reading, haha!
So excited to see what's coming of this. I remember seeing the FS thread and thinking that it was a huge shame to see that happen to such a prime example of an iconic car.
Patiently waiting for more!

OK So,
I know I've left everyone hanging so far waiting for progress pictures. Progress has been slower than anticipated as the body shop I am working with has taken in a lot of high priority work blah blah. Basically the car has been in the same state for about a month. I have also been waiting for 2 months to get my 36mm 5 lug from Hmotorsonline for reasons I can't really begin to comprehend, but whatever. In august I placed an order for some red SRDs, 36mm 5lug,and Mugen lowdown 5ways. It took a month to get the seats and I have been waiting to get my 5lug which is supposedly going to arrive this monday, finally. Ive been busy with the SHG fall bbq and getting my girlfriend Brittany's FA5 ready with her to be presentable for the meet, prepping cars and traveling for work doing race weekends including most recently the 13-hour Enduro @ VIR, and also trying to balance my personal life and relationship. I know I know, you feel bad for me...
Anyhow the Type R is a scary sight right now but here is what i have to share. Included is some other things that have been going on recently.
Here it is all loaded up and ready for an early morning delivery to the body shop
Here she is dropped off safe and sound at Precision Motorsports. Since i had sold my 4x114.3 to SHG_Beans I needed to make the car roll so I was able to toss on some DA6 knuckles I had laying around and used a couple of the stock wheels off of my Fit to get the job done. Hilarious levels of negative camber.
Then Zach started to assess the damage and began to pull the first layer of destruction to reach the important bits
So, basically the outside layer was pulled into position, or at least close enough and then cut away to expose the layers underneath, which will now be clamped and pulled further. :GRAPHIC CONTENT VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED:
Evan(SHG_EasyE) and I stopped over while we were on lunch to see the damages
Evan can be seen here trying to learn and copy my dc2 suspender secrets
After a while I realized he had fainted due to the large amounts of JDM radiating from the chassis
Morning:
I was very excited to receive my Recaros they are in insane condition!
Brittany quickly claimed them as hers...
In other news, Brittany and I had decided we wanted to take her FA5 to the annual SHG Oktoberfest meet so we picked one weekend morning to head to my job and install her S2 lowering springs and some EVO8 wheels I had surprised her with.
I couldn't resist snapping a shot of the Fit on the way out of the house, I loveeee this car!
So we drove like dorks all the way to the shop
Bone stock 2011 Si.
We wasted no time getting the car up in the air and pulling out the stock springs
Pretty crusty, but it is a daily driven car at this point until she gets a second car and we can start the real build process.
While Brittany finished pulling the suspension and anti-seizing the hardware I went on to swap her tires onto the EVO wheels.
WATASHI HONDA CIBIKU!
Thats one excited Booger!
and there she is looking much better
Well there you have it. I hope my long awaited update was enough for now. My schedule is starting to level out so more updates will come soon, and i will make sure to update with pictures of all the new goodies soon! Thanks everyone that has been positive so far and being patient with me.

Wow, they sure did cut out a massive part of the car without bracing anything. Obviously it was smashed really hard, but to my knowledge shouldn't they have braced some parts of the car to avoid it getting bent out of place in a spot that wasn't damaged before? So far so good though, looks better already with that panel removed. Keep it up!!!

Wow thats a huge bummer a part out wouldn't of been a bad idea but only
If you could find another type r to transfer the good stuff. Mad props for
bringing it though a car like this does not belong in a salvage yard :

Re: SHG has another - JDM DC2R- Project/Restoration/Build
thanks! it makes me feel better to know that at least the dimensions are the same.
hahaha DYAD!
ZOMG BRACING! lol, not required, the car will be aligned and measured about 500 more times before the sectioning is finalized. Thank you!
Thanks, I just couldn't see a car like this be torn apart after it went through so much to enter the country in one piece.
