great builds and attention to detail.
random question, which lugs did u use for the evo8 wheels? the OE mitsu mag-style lugs always gave me a hard time, but whenever I see evo wheels on other brands, i get nervous that they dont use mag-style lugs.

OK so, update. I have been playing with brakes lately and I have started the process of my custom sumitomo brake setup. It all started with wanting to run a top-loader caliper setup, normally any person would buy Spoon calipers and call it a day but I have a couple of issues with them. #1 being that there are NO DUST BOOTS! what were you thinking nissin? I mean come on, a caliper designed to be used with stock rotors and stock pads on cars that see occasional track use and mostly street use and you didn't have a booted piston. i am disappoint. #2 every so-cal show car dork has Spoon calipers for "+reppp", no thanks. #3 They are pricey for just 2 calipers, not to mention they are expensive to service and part availability is only through Spoon. #4 I wanted to run a thicker rotor. Spoon is designed to work with the ITR 23mm rotor and I will be using a 28mm legend rotor or 30mm r33 GTS rotor or 300zxTT rotor.
So far i have chosen to go with the legend rotor because of availability and back spacing. Here you can see the test fit with 90-93 30mm TT aluminum sumitomo calipers and a 280x28 legend rotors.
Here you can see the difference in thickness to the 23mm ITR rotor. this is the point where people will be like "OMG THE WEIGHT!" lol
I sourced a set of aluminum r33 gt-s calipers off Ebay from Malaysia. I received them in 4 DAYS! I then started to shave the casting info and factory "nissan" lettering, as well as clean up some ugly casting marks.
Here they are both filed and sanded, then glass bead blasted for an even finish. (considering a silver like this, still undecided)
Well there you have it.

Calipers look great. Man, what a shop! So, let me get this right: you work at a shop all day, every day, and you get paid for it, and that's the shop, right?
What a life!

although you seem offended which I'm sure you are not, your car is very nice and its cool that you use it unlike most of the cali-dorks, but played out still applies even if it is functional. for example, my dc2 is played out because everyone has them and my advans are played out because everyone has them. I still enjoy them and have them but ill be the first to tell you they are played out and common.

HOW DOES THIS THREAD ONLY HAVE FOUR STARS?!
I don't get why people rate threads where people spend endless hours like you with a wack rating, just b/c they don't like your style. HT....Never fails to fail.

^Why I got into ecomodding. It's all "been done before" in the Honda scene. Not that I don't like the common approach here on the forums, just wanted something new/fresh.

So. Im missing alot of in between photos but for the sake of a 2 year overdue update, this is the current state of the resurrection. I had basically resorted to instagram for updates as it seemed honda-tech had slowed over the years. For those who dont have social media or know my handle (SHG_Seamus) here are a few pictures of where the car currently stands. I have patiently been waiting for the body shop to make some progress and now I am just a few weeks from having my car back. It has been quite a process and I have had people ask for years if i gave up on it. I am beside myself with the amazing turn around of this car and there is light at the end of this long tunnel. Ill have more progress as it is made in the coming weeks and look forward to my first drive with the car this coming spring season. Life has taken me many places in the past 2 years and I have gone through significant changes. From marrying the love of my life to buying a home, further developing the Fit and now Kswapping the car and becoming a crew chief and race engineer for Shea Racing in Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car. This project has been both a thorn in my side and a test to my patience but it has also been a reminder that good things come if you work hard and stay the course. More to come!
