I been lookin at that photobucket of ur old hatch keepin me motiviated lol. I love the detail in that car. This one too
I'm so glad I decided to rebuild. I was just gonna take the stock bottom end and toss the b16 head on at first for budget purposes. So worth it. Motor should be lots more fun now with the new pistons. In for updates!!

They're comin along I sprayed them with some high build primer to fill in the marks from the press brake and wetsanded them with 400. I'm picking up the satin black paint tonight so I'll have some pictures up tomorrow!
Then I just need to pick up a 2ohm resistor to get rid of the oem belt tensioner system and get an older model buckle.

Well, it will be street-able, since I want it to be more of a GT car... but at the same time I need to do metal work just to get the supercharger to fit in the engine bay (subframe gets in the way). So, rather then attempt to fabricate a mutant subframe, I'm just going to half-cut the car. This will also give me a chance to eliminate those dreaded compliance bushings, and some other personal issues with the front end construction that I have. I'll also be tearing into the rear suspension, and replacing the fuel tank with a cell... but that's all much further down the road. I'll be starting with the front of the car, and working backwards.

yea if you get into a wreck with stock belts on buckets i heard you can "submarine" out of the seat under the lap belt O_O..idk how valid that is

Totally not valid, as long as the lap belt is tight over your waist. Think about it, why would the situation be any different in a bucket than a stock seat? If anything youre safer in a bucket because youre held secure side to side.

Damn dude thats sick, sounds like a pretty badass project. Are you keeping a blog or build somewhere I can check out?

the way that person explained it was that the bucket makes you sit lower or more "sunk" into the seat and the sides beside your hips and thys sits higher. causing a gap by the lap belt. I personally have never owned a bucket seat so iono im just repeating what i read

Yeah thats true, but thats only when people dont run the seatbelt through the harness holes and just have it over the sides... Then its an issue. But when you use the harness holes the belt is tight against you just like oem

Unbolt seatbelt at the bottom, thread it through the harness hole on the door side then bolt it up again. When you're in the seat the buckle/belt will be right at the opposite harness hole or partially through it.
