Remote damper reservoirs. Normal shock/strut dampers have the oil reservoirs self-contained within the damper body itself, where the piston enters the top. Remote reservoirs allow for a larger volume of fluid to be used, which I believe also allows for more damper travel. I'm sure it has something to do with better heat dissipation, too, during track use.

Hey guys! Finally an update!
Been super busy lately with work but here are a few things new with the car
Got some new parts in, including this SPA Design Dual digital gauge setup for oil pressure and oil temp. It includes a fully customizable display, customizable warning lights, high/low memory and digital outputs for datalogging or external led's etc. It also included both sensors and motorsport wiring harness
.
.
Also finally got replacement LED parking lights, as well as some Philips Xtreme power headlamp bulbs
.
.
Lastly, Thanks to help from Mike my wheel decal idea was made a reality and I finally got to putting the decals on yesterday. They just what I had hoped... Giving the wheels a little more of a racy look and less of a showy appearance
.
.
Much more to come tomorrow!!

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
Thanks for the input guys! The decals really do change the whole look of these wheels on the car
I worked on the car a good bit on saturday, and got started on a short list of long jobs I have lined up for the car over the next few weeks...
I swapped out the upper rear camber link sphericals for new factory bushings, as well as put the bushings back in the rear shocks. Ive still got the inner camber link pivots to replace with original buddy club rubber bushings, and I think Im going to switch to factory rear top hats as well. NO MORE CLUNKS!!
Removed my poly lower knuckle bushings and cleaned them up. The best way to clean off that sticky grease and restore poly bushings is to soak them and wipe down with WD40. Works like a charm! These bushings are a testament to how poly works very well when used in the right application... This is the first time these have been serviced in the 30-35k miles Ive put on them
.
.
Then I installed the poly bushings and new factory upper bushing in a new set of powdercoated knuckles donated from the DC5 build (my spherical knuckles will get powdercoated and used in their place)
.
.
I also needed extended studs due to the thick lug seats on the Tarmacs, as well as some room for a spacer down the road if I want to experiment. I pulled the rear hubs, masked the bearing openings to keep out debris, and cleaned the rotor mounting surface to bare metal, then resprayed them followed by the new studs.
.
.
Suspension going back together...
.
.
And with the wheel installed Im really liking the look of the studs peeking out from inside the lugs
.
.
Since I had to drive the car home I was only able to get the rear done. This weekend Ill attack the front studs install as well as new front wheel bearings since the hubs have to come apart anyway.

Man that looks so dope lol. Your suspension is a dream come true I'm sure. I also agree with the studs inside the lugs, looks trick! Loving it.

Poly bushings look like that after 35K miles? That's reaaaaly surprising. I had poly shifter bushings on my DC2 for about that long, and the front donut bushing was literally crumbling and turning to dust in my hands, despite that bushing never seeing any kind of rotational or torsional movement. I went back to OEM rubber on those.

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
So I spent another Saturday wrenching on the Civic, but this time Dre kept me company as he was doing some work on his SSM as well
I kicked it off with finally installing my SHG circuit tow loop. Ive been waiting since winter 2011 to get one of these things on the car
Stock VS the SHG part
.
.
Welded in
.
.
Then I masked it off to spray gray around the base
.
.
And then the signature orange paint
.
.
Then got down on this weekly ritual
.
.
Then the main reason I had the car up was to finish the ARP stud install. I pulled the front knuckles apart and stripped the hubs down since they were pretty rusty and lifting the POR I had applied a few years ago.
Here is a hub with a coat of etching primer
.
.
Here are the knuckles, Honda wheel bearings, refinished hubs with ARP studs, and new Honda retaining pins for the castle nuts ready to assemble
.
.
The scene towards the end of the night ... Two ssm's CHILLEN
