Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
Strengthening one section of a structure out of proportion to another part of the same structure can paradoxically reduce the overall strength...the seat base is only as strong as its weakest link (which is probably now the shoulder sections next to the beefy welds). Hopefully we'll never have to find out.
I'm just offering some critique and counter points...I'm sure you'll get plenty of positive feedback regardless.

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
Lots of stuff to show you guys this week
Ive been spending a bunch of time on the CRV, fixing little things like the clock (needed some broken connections re-soldered) and dome light, as well as cleaning the interior bit by bit. But the biggest change is the winter tires and new wheels...
Shes now sitting on a set of RSX-S wheels with Honda center caps and Mastercraft 205/55/16 snow tires. These came on the DC5 donor car that were building hence the smaller tire size. They required 5mm spacers to clear the brakes up front so I installed them all the way around. Im looking for a 5th wheel to make a full set if anyone has a lead
Before:
.
.
After:
.
.
I also picked up some weathertech all weather floor mats and a strut king shift boot adapter, so I could swap over my Accord Euro R **** from the EP3
.
.
Ive also been spending some time in the engine bay. The battery was in bad shape, and once the cold weather hit last week it kicked the bucket. So out with the old and in with the new!
.
.
New to me Exide battery with fresh hardware and tie down
.
.
And some new hardware here and there, mostly M6's that I had plated as spares

Damn this guy already surpassing my EG build! Hahha great work buddy can't wait for some sort of road trip in this thing How does it handle now with the smaller sidewall tires?
The OEM rail mod was perfectly executed, sitting lower is so much better even if by a small amount. Love the welds and caps being back on there too!

Looks nice and clean man. I'm guessing the previous owner put that switch on the lower part of the dash?

The car has 147k mies, had a timing belt done at 118k, but there is no record of a valve adjustment.

Most of the time when it burns a valve its because the valve seat gets recessed. I have done more than a couple that need a new head. Some times they can get away with just a new valve.

Didnt know about that... Do they come out of adjustment and the vlaves get burned as a result? Ill have to set some time aside next week to check the clearances, thanks for the heads up!

Re: SHG is back! Easy's EP3 goes under the knife...
Another update, this time for the Hatch!
Since the snow has been falling I decided to get the car ready to park for the winter. The wheels had gotten quite dusty over the last week or so, so I took the wheels off and cleaned them inside and out as well as the brakes, suspension, and fenderwells....
Before -
.
.
After -
.
.
I also gave her a good interior detail and vaccum
.
.
Finally, I took some time at home to organize some tools I recently inherited from my dad. Alot of them belonged to my great, great grandfather...
.
.
Filled my new rolling tool box with a bunch of the new tools as well as some others that didnt have a home

Your great-great grandfather had good taste in tools. Some nice Starrett equipment in there. And he still has the original packaging, which is not terribly common. I love my Starrett 0-1 and 1-2 mic's. They work soooo well.

Yeah its mostly starrett and brown&sharpe tools dating back as far as 1905. Alot appear to have never been used, and have the paperwork in the boxes. I also have a set of Johansson gage blocks made for Ford Dearborne circa 1926. Alot of history in those drawers

ah d00d I'm running the same tires, Dunlop Direzza Digi-Tyre in 205/45-16.
Awesome work on the CR-V seat. Can you still see over the dash okay?
