Re: Round 3: Aztec Green Pearl EJ2 Coupe -94! OEM Goodies
I'm so glad I live in a state where my 92 civic has zero replacement panels and zero rust anywhere.... That's an insane amount of work to just get the car to where it's normal again. Good job on everything!

Thanks! Rust damage is really pain to fix correctly. Left side has more rust damage than right side, so after this side is done, other should be much more easier to fix.
So, in the quarter panel the war plan is to first repair the edge and rear part of the outside panel (so i can get it 100% aligned), then cut out the gas lid part to fix the rusted out inner parts.
First batch of sandblasted/zinc primed/powdercoated parts, they look pretty good!
Testing (i know that the bearing is upside down in these pics, i just put it over the knuckle to take the pics):
TiAl6V4 hardware:
ABS-sensor shields got the same sandblast/zinc prime/powdercoat treatment. I still need to clean the rubber parts and treat them with Honda Shin-Etsu grease.:
New Delphi dryer for AC :
I still cant believe how small this JL Audio HD900/5 amp really is compared to its power, unreal:
Test fitting to boost up motivation:
So, does anyone have any info what 300mm discs i should use in front? I have ITR Spec98 5x114,3 swap and S2000/EP3 stock calipers in front.
Bonus pics, got a change to visit local Honda to see new Type-R:
I want those seats!

Brake update!
Looks pretty good in my opinion Dont mind the rear hub being rusty, this was only test fit.
Everything was basicly bolt on, i only needed to add small shims between the caliper and knuckle (like in some Spoon caliper installs). I was told the calipers need milling, but what i found was exact opposite. This is my front brake setup:
- Civic EP3 Type-R front calipers and pads
- Integra DC2 Type-R Spec98 front hubs
- Accord CH1 Type-R rotors (MTEC dimpled, grooved & coated 300mm)
Type-R parts from multiple models :D This setup also still has some room for improvement, as ATR/Legend dual pot calipers should also be compatible.
I had some difficulties on finding the rotors that fit, because the Integra hub center hole is 70mm and EP3 has 64mm center hole. CL9 Accord discs are 300mm/25mm which would be perfect fit, but the center hole is 64mm so no go. I did some measurements and found out that CH1 ATR 300mm/28mm discs with 70mm center hole are (only just), compatible with EP3 brake calipers as the calipers accept 3mm thicker discs (even with new discs and pads).

Last test fit before welding the inner wheel arch piece on. Dont mind the rusty part on front of the new piece, it will be swapped after this is welded on (to keep everything lined up):

Small update:
I had to test fit some parts as they looked too good on the floor:
Removed the front subframe for sand blasting and powder coat:
Cleaning up front wheel arches.
New HardRace bushings for Skunk2 Pro Plus front camber arms.
For the front lower ball joints i bought those HardRace extended ball joints. Also rear camber kit is from HR.
1 out of 3 boxes going to SB and PC:

Some underbody cleaning and sealing done (only floor, because i still need to do metalwork on sills):
Old engine removed:
For the color I´ve been thinking Pirates Black or Nighthawk Black Pearl. Still undecided though, so it can stil change.
Some minor details done:
New inner panel edge tacked on:
New outer body panel stiffener edge:
Completed welds:
Then i marked some holes and bolts to be removed:
Then i swapped my interest back to Spec 98 ITR ABS system retrofit:
First new brake line partially bent to ITR ABS modulator. I will make almost completely OEM looking bends, just try to hide them little better on firewall so they wont be as visible:
Some new parts:
Then i did a small repair to AC evaporator. This is not going to be installed to my car, as my car gets EK unit that has a slot for pollen filter. New lower insulation is not available from Honda anymore, so i needed to repair the old one. I used leftover 2 or 3mm Depron, that i had from my RC hobby:
Work in progress:
Drivers side sill. Dont worry, the rusty rear part is going to be removed, i just needed to do it in two parts as my replacement part had some rust on the rear section:
Test fit with side skirt (only front clip holder is installed, rear is resting on the jack:
Repairs should be pretty invisible once cleaned up:
Front part is pretty tricky, but i think i can perfect it:
Filling the spot weld holes:

Thanks guys!
Steffen Flindt; No, actually i dont have a facebook account anymore. Deleted it couple of years ago.
Gigio: Wait when i´ll have some time to do that OLED-info display project, that gives the cluster that finishing touch when its integrated to the Door Indicator window.
Friend in USA helped me with the other side of the car and sourced me this:
Preparation work done:
Etch primer:
Primer:
Bought EG9 rear bench/console:
The seats were installed to my gf:s car (she´s going to source the console by herself). I got some plans for this console in my Coupe build...
So... Custom rear seats is the plan to make this work in Coupe chassis. The console installation points were there though, so Coupe chassis shares the inner rear section with EG Sedans.
I wasnt happy with the fuel lid area, so i thought that what the hell, ill do it again with a different plan. With new plan, i could save 24cm of weld, when compared the previous plan.
Measuring and testing:
Perfect fitment, so couple of tacks first:
Then grind down those spots and start filling the gaps with 0,6m wire:
How it looks from the backside:
Then i needed to steal some parts from the old piece:
"Metal finished mig weld":
Aaaand testing (lots of it actually):
Etch primer and normal primer:
This piece (from USA) helped a lot:
...because the original part looked like this:
Is there anyone in states that could help me to source the drivers side A-pillar piece from hondapartsnow? It comes with A-pillar, so straight shipping to finland would cost too much. If someone could get me the part and then cut it so it looks like this, and then ship it to me.

Fuel filler area part glued to the body panel
I used 3M 08694 Polyurethane seam sealer. Colored black.
Some pics:
This is taken just before i applied the glue. The grey paint is epoxy, which should seal the glue area:
And applied/cured:
New locks for the tie rods (also a sneak peak of my other EG HB SiR-II inspired EG3 project):
Bought some mats that i need to refurbish:
Bought new projectors for the TYC lights: Morimoto Mini D2S 4.0 bi-xenon.
I still need Osram Xenarc 66240 Cool Blue Hyper D2S bulbs and some Morimoto D2S ballasts:
Aaaand i also bought Integra DC2 steering rack, mainly because the old steering rack is busted and already scrapped.
Integra DC2: 16:1, 2.9 L2L
EG Manual Steering: 19.0:1, 3.88 L2L
EG Power Steering: 17.5:1, 3.58 L2L
Edit: Bonus pics from my other project. 98tkm driven EG3 from the first owner:
Already started to add some SiR II parts to it:
Had an extra set of Koni Sports, so why not:
SiR II Interior swap:

Still here! Long time no see!
Fkd up my phone, lost every pic. Second phone: Corrupted microSD card -> lost every pic. Forgot my htech account etc etc etc...
Just a quick update:
The welds are perfect and hole free. They are just ground down, so they look like **** in these pics:

Re: Round 3: Aztec Green Pearl EJ2 Coupe -94! OEM Goodies
So, to explain a little. 3M 2 component body adhesive is used in several locations (the black stuff). I also bought Telwin 3-phase microcontroller driven spot welder for these projects i have, so ican safely weld through the adhesive without burning it. Because of the spot welder, i can do the sill section better than it was from the factory (better rust protection because of the added adhesive).
The brake lines are following the original bends as much as they can, only the rest of the lines that are going to the ITR ABS modulator and "prop valve" are improvised. I think this gives nice OEM look that im trying to chase. I dont know if im the first person to retrofit ITR Spec 98 ABS system to EG/EJ series, but i havent found any info if anyone else has done this before. If someone asks why, the reason is the local rules. I cant swap any motor over D16Z6 to this car, without installing ABS. And because EG/EJ ABS is ****, i didnt want to go through the hassle of installing shitty ABS to my car, i wanted the best i could get, with reasonable amount of work to be done.
Heres me welding the front and rear sill together:
https://hitecmods.kuvat.fi/kuvat/EJ2...172421_365.mp4
And cleaning the inside of the welds (every weld is planned and measured, so they can be cleaned and protected also from the inside:
https://hitecmods.kuvat.fi/kuvat/EJ2...211238_008.mp4
And heres how i do the part bends:
https://hitecmods.kuvat.fi/kuvat/EJ2...091759_580.mp4
Aciding the **** out of my EG3:s A-pillar:
https://hitecmods.kuvat.fi/kuvat/EJ2...095135_037.mp4
EG3 aciding process:
https://hitecmods.kuvat.fi/kuvat/EJ2...214028_872.mp4
My dream would be living in USA and be a part of some kind of custom/restoration shop. Seems to be far away dream.

Thanks for all the replies!
Unfortunately Nicodrift, i dont own SiR II arm rest. The one you see on the Coupe is just a with a regular black fabric. Even if i had one, i would swap it, sorry ;D
And weatherall123: I think its pretty hard, because by regulations, you cant visit USA with visitor visa and seek for job. If you caught up seeking job with your "holiday", they are going to ban you from visiting there for years. Only option would be asks jobs from here, but i think the changes are pretty low.
I dont know if i have mentioned it before, but i also bought MY00 S2000 two years ago:
