Re: OMG LIBERTARIAT STARTS A BUILD
I convinced my friends Brandon and now Walter to go AMR and they have been happy. (Funny they got them before me when I told them about it). Brandon for one never thought he would order such an expensive set of coilovers, but he tells me constantly how he couldn't use anything else.
So I changed my strategy and tried seeing the good side of things: this 4-6 week wait will give me an opportunity to run the car 2-3 more AutoX events and get even more used to my current street setup (KYB AGX with H&R Springs).
That way, when the beasts arrive, I'll be able to appreciate them even more. It's the only way, short of going mad.

To touch on a previous topic, IMO the AMRs are well worth the wait. Andy builds a top-notch setup, and now that I own a set, I wouldn't ride on anything else. Though the spring rates are high, the ride-quality is very streetable, and there are some very fast cars running the setup in the Atlanta region.
Andy was always prompt to respond to my inquiries, both by phone and e-mail. I am nothing short of elated with my setup.
If you ever find yourself in Atlanta, come out to an autocross! The more the merrier!
Adam is just being modest. The car is MUCH better than that.

Listen, I never said they weren't quality. I just said you should tell people the truth. Don't say one thing, and then deliver something else. It's bad business. Based solely on your ridiculous response to this thread, I'll never buy your coilovers. I'm very happy with what I currently have and it's not worth the aggregation dealing with someone like you. Enjoy your success, I hope it lasts.

Also, Walter, pretty sure that Vagisil won't make your car any faster, but that's an interesting thing to bring to an autocross!
;P
Adam, I'm liking the alignment parts!

I'm taking the girl to Tail of the Dragon this weekend. Won't be back till late Sunday. Supposed to be a beautiful weekend.
Talked to Andy today. He said it would still be 5-7 weeks but he'd let me know once it got started.

Can't wait to put them on the car.
I'm also about 80% sure I fried a wheel bearing this weekend at tail of the dragon. I had a blast. There are some crazy ***** that go up there.

The 19th isn't an actual Points event....it is a shared event with Peachstate PCA (Porsche Club of America), so I would anticipate it to be administered somewhat differently (since they are hosting). I'm not finding it on the MotorsportReg site so I'm not sure of the details. Also, I'm not finding anything on the Peachstate PCA site that suggests that they're hosting us, so who knows! Doubt I'll be out again until Points 5 on the 26th.

Re: OMG LIBERTARIAT STARTS A BUILD
Life Update:
Lost my job 3 weeks ago at TRS. So I've been killing time and working odd jobs on the side to get by in the meantime. Had to sell my QSD Oil pan to get by, and I'm hoping to hear back from my potential new employer this week (i.e., tomorrow). I'm really stretched right now but if I can get any kind of confirmation about the new job I can afford to not sell the AMR setup when they get here.
Car Update:
Nothing done recently short of my retrofitted headlights, I need to get some pictures of those up. The car runs great, just consuming a little coolant here and there which I can't figure out. It's absolutely filthy right now and honestly, my biggest concern is to keep her getting me from point A to point B till I get my crap together.

Thanks, John. Hoping to hear back from a really promising job in Birmingham this week. I emailed my potential manager this morning.

....four years later....nice work! It came out awesome, would love to see it at an auto-x. Maybe one day I'll end up finding the time to pull my engine and start my rebuild. Get a job yet?
