question for you, did you paint your interior with spray paint, or with a gun, cause im in the process of prepping interior for fresh paint and am wondering if it came out that good with spray can, or a gun?

it was rattle canned just so i can re touch it easier because interior gets ****ed up. but the reason it looks so good is all in prep work and using good primer.

cool good to know cause i dont have my compressor at my house, so did you sand down to the metal inside, or just clean really good? and if you sanded what grit did you use i will be doing all this by hand so if i do need to sand i will, but its going to suck, and what color is that for the interior it looks great, also what primer did you use?

i scuffed it all down with 180 grit, made sure everything was dull and smooth, then i went over it all again with a red scotch brite pad to smooth it out, then i wiped it down really well with wax and grease remover. applied the first coat of sem high build primer, smoothed that out by sanding with 400 grit, wiped down with wax and grease again, another coat of primer, sanded again with 600, wiped down with wax and grease, then i applied sem gunmetal grey promax xrp enamel. about 4-5 coats of that, then i cleared it with sem promax enamel clear coat. about 5 coats of that too.

just remember, the quality of a paint job is only partially dictated by the spraying skills or the products you use, the real quality shines through in the prep work.

Cool
I’m about 6hrs in to prep on my cage, thanks for the answers

Seems the tubes have some type of coating on them and I was about to paint over it when a friend said just about the same thing you are saying.

I may have missed it, but why rivets in the back rather than stitch welding it?

Cage looks great btw...

Because I got the car with the rivets. If the holes weren't I would have just stich welded it
