My 94 aztec green pearl civic build
hello all, I bought my 1994 civic ex 3 years ago. I have had big goals set for it from the beginning. Up until recently I haven't been able to meet those goals. The build thread is for me to keep track of the progress and also show my personal preferences when it comes to Hondas. I love the brand, and currently own 5. I like things simple, and as OEM as possible while still retaining the aftermarket parts that add to a cars appearance and performance.
I bought my civic on 2/14/13 in Iowa. It had no rust and faded paint from being in Colorado most of its life. It had a few miss matched body panels, but overall I believed it was perfect for what I needed.
Next I got a few parts to get things rolling. ITR shift boot, new hood, tein h tech springs, New Honda MTF fluid, New mirrors (spoon reps sorry) and a spoon shift ****.
So with things looking a little better I started looking for wheels. I couldn't afford much, so bare with me here lol
I got a set of rota circuit 8's with falken azenis.
So from here I didn't do too much for awhile. I was saving for a daily driver so I wouldn't have to drive my civic through our harsh winters.
I bought this little ford escort, which ironically matched my civic.
Roughly one year and many winter months later I bought Raceland ultimo coilovers for it, I know not the best option but it was the best I could afford. I also bought some nickel 15x8 949 racing wheels with 205/50/15 kuhmo tires.
I will continue this later to bring everything up to its current state. thanks for looking!

Re: My 94 aztec green pearl civic build
The following year, this would be summer of 2015 I decided to get a little more serious. I really couldn't stand the faded, scratched, gouged paint any longer. also I had a dented driver fender, and cracked front bumper. I was really hoping to swap it as well.
first I went to honda and had a brand new OEM bumper ordered up, I did not want to deal with poor fitting ebay body panels.
After the bumper was installed I found a 1994 integra gsr sedan on craigslist. it was rusty but very cheap and 100% original. I bought the car so I could pull the motor and swap it into my civic.
I Really enjoyed driving this car, it drove way better than I expected and I didnt have the heart to rip the engine out. I decided to put some money into it, and keep it as another spring/summer project.
I did rotors, pads and wheel bearings to keep her road worthy.
so around June 2015 I had my car repainted the original aztec green pearl. I had been waiting for this moment for quite awhile, and never thought I would be able to afford it!

I put my wheels back on, and a new oem civic ex sticker.
I was extremely happy finally having my paint look nice.
I did a photoshoot after I got the car looking the way I wanted

Great job on saving it and the Integra man. Both look like they could have death sentences issued on them.
Civic looks super good!

Wow that's a night and day difference. Car's looking great!
I love that color, I'm probably biased, but AGP is the best color Honda ever made!

Thanks so much! I love the color. I knew that keeping it that color was the only way to go. Are you biased because you have one as well?

Thank you. So I actually don't have the h-techs anymore. I purchased Raceland Ultimos right after I got the Yonaka exhaust. The h-tech were fine at first but eventually blew my oe shocks. I will be looking to upgrade to progress csII coilovers in summer. The racelands were great value for money, but I would like something a bit nicer.

Cant go wrong with progress. They have multiple spring rates available too. You are off to a great start. Kudos sir. +1 for the yonaka as well. Im ordering one for my sedan soon.

Yeah I have a 92 GS-R in AGP. it took a LONG time to find this car in this color, but well worth the wait. Can't wait to see more on this build. I've heard a lot of good things about Progress, should be a great upgrade

^ One of the cars I have always wanted. my first car was a 1990 integra gs, I miss it very much. If I found a nice one I would consider picking it up, I have more cars than room at the moment. A 2004 TSX, 91 accord, 94 gsr, and my coupe. If I had more room and $ I'd have more! so many Honda/Acuras I would love to own.

Yeah I agree, paint and body work was a priority. Without it I knew I would not be happy upgrading anything else. My whole driver side was faded and flaking.

Update:
Bought this 94 Del Sol Vtec with 100K, going to be pulling the motor and swapping it as soon as the weather gets decent. I did notice after the purchase that the driver side motor mount where it bolts to the block has a crack along the top. No way for me to see how bad it is, but does anyone have any experience with fixing this sort of thing? My best friend is a tig/mig welder, and feels confident in fixing it. From what I can tell it looks fixable. any help in this area would be very much appreciated!
here is the picture of the crack

Re: My 94 aztec green pearl civic build
Its been a little bit but I have an update.
First thing I've done is pulled off my window moldings/garnishes. The side pieces the always crack and dry out. Well mine were terrible, so I refurbished them rather than paying $100 at Honda. I've spent enough there within the last year, having 4 cars gets expensive!
Then I bought new oem for garnishes
I also pulled my old spoon rep mirrors off so that I could use the base plates more my other spoon mirrors I just got. They were for an integra but the base plates are the only difference.
I also received my new front lip, Can't wait to get it painted. When I get it painted I will also be having then paint my mirrors. Im not a huge fan of carbon fiber.
