GreatWave's not-so-jdm Integra build

Been around for a few years and got myself a new ride! I figured now was as good a time as any to start a log on my newly acquired 98 LS.

Paid $1300 for it, here's how she looked when I got her:

for some reason this is the only picture I have from before I got a hold of her.
I've been busy with a few things, ordering parts I want and working on a list of what I'm gonna do down the road.

I haven't been keeping up with this, I forgot I even started a thread. I haven't done a lot to her yet, but I have a handful of pictures I'll just leave here

First night home I installed my valve cover from my old eg and the gsr strut bar I bought from a friend. I also peeled open and painted my new headlight housings black. 9005 retro in the low beam and nokya hyper yellow bulbs in the high beams.

I picked up a replica Gen 2 Mugen for it on the local CL and fixed a few cracks in the fiberglass and painted it, all for less then $200!

Then I made the mistake of trading the wheels from my old civic for these on the Integra. Currently in the process of getting rid of them, hopefully sooner rather than later

I still have a ton of extra parts from my eg that will eventually get fitted to the new car, exhaust, suspension, etc.

are you a big fan of milano red, i see both cars are the same color

GreatWave 01-11-2016 03:02 AM

you would think lol I had plans to paint the civic championship white and that's what I'm doing to the integra when it's ready

Lose the wheels for something more desirable, get the coilovers and Vibrant exhaust from my old eg hatch on, swap in my gsr transmission, and eventually rebuild it and add some boost. Right now I'm just working and taking classes so I don't spend any more than I make from selling old parts.

It's not the best pic, and the car is covered in road salt from the drive home, but I got new rubber put on last night until I find new wheels. Direzza DZ102 205/45/16. Felt pretty good in the snow and ice. I was pleasantly surprised

I had a chance on lunch to install my CT Engineering air filter, another part that was in my old eg. One of the best intakes I think I've ever had honestly. Factory box with a diy cold air pipe behind the turn signal

Just placed an order for a set of these:

http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/...psgnoroyhn.jpg

The fact that they're a replica is fine with me, I've had good luck with Drag wheels before. I also decided I'm going to lay out some plans to modify my vibrant exhaust from the civic to resemble the BC Spec 2 but have an actual muffler under the car

i think the wheels will fit the car really well

I definitely like them better than what's on it currently. hopefully they sell pretty quickly

Those replica wheels will look a lot better.

Re: not_so_jdm_eh2's not-so-jdm Integra build

This may sound ridiculous, but has anybody installed an oval muffler, such as the vibrant I have, before the rear lca ? Reason I ask is because I love the look of the Buddy Club Spec II on the integra but live in a college town. All the cops pay more attention to imports and I like the tone and noise level I get from the vibrant . I've looked all over and can't seem to find anything

Re: not_so_jdm_eh2's not-so-jdm Integra build

After looking around some more on google, I don't think I'll have room anywhere else for the vibrant except where it's supposed to go. Has anybody here owned or heard a Spec 2 with an extra resonator in place ?

GreatWave 01-19-2016 10:56 AM

Re: not_so_jdm_eh2's not-so-jdm Integra build

I bit the bullet and ordered 2 resonators to weld in before the lca, I guess we'll see what happens!

Re: not_so_jdm_eh2's not-so-jdm Integra build

Spec 2's are pretty loud. I live in AZ where sound isn't a problem. But 2 resonators might do it.

We'll find out this weekend, it's sort of a homegrown Spec 2. I'm using all my 2.5" pipe from the old civic and taking my vibrant muffler off to replace with pipe. Add the resonators in up front and it shouldn't be too bad.

Re: not_so_jdm_eh2's not-so-jdm Integra build

I decided to scrap the exhaust idea after I got a chance to hear it, and will be welding my vibrant back on hopefully later this week. I think I'm probably going to paint the muffler with high heat black and weld my 3 inch tip on the make up for the civic's exhaust being shorter. I also got my sw388 reps in and finally got rid of the hideous Mille Miglia's. I traded them with shit tires for a 15 inch set of steel wheels with decent snow tires, considering we got almost a foot of snow here in Athens. Looks like I might actually have more things to post this week!

I haven't got any work done yet, so I'll leave the most current pics here. Going home to the shop tonight so maybe I'll accomplish something.

I got two of my new tires and wheels installed Thursday night, and welded some exhaust pipe for a few hours. On the way home I got picked up for speeding. Turns out I was driving a "stolen" vehicle. The last 8 digits of my vin matched the vin of a stolen car hauler from Minnesota and I spent almost an hour in the back of a cruiser in cuffs while they straightened it out. If they had looked at the title I just got out of my dad's gun safe to take home with me, it would have went a whole lot quicker.

Re: not_so_jdm_eh2's not-so-jdm Integra build

The exhaust is finally on! It's not done entirely, but I ran out of time last night and still had to drive an hour home. Old skunk2 megapower with a vibrant muffler, and 3.5" tip from the local truck exhaust shop. Not thew best picture, but it gives you a rough idea.

I've been in that same situation. Lol. Really sucks.

Re: not_so_jdm_eh2's not-so-jdm Integra build

It's not much of an update because it needs moar pics, but two wheels are on, waiting for the other two tires to arrive. Going to see deadpool tonight and distract myself from what I have planned for tomorrow. Two hour round-trip drive to my dad's shop, to swap transmissions, install my old sub, camber kits, post a complete LS swap for sale, grab the spoiler from the body shop, and try my hand at some paint correction. Fuck me, tomorrow will be busy.

GreatWave 02-25-2016 09:25 AM

Re: not_so_jdm_eh2's not-so-jdm Integra build

A long awaited update! I finally got my wing back from the body shop. No more cracks and a fresh coat of paint. It's also up for sale or trade now as well.

http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/...psahkejrg5.jpg

Still waiting on a couple tires. but at least I have 2 new ones on the car.

http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/...pslpq9sizf.jpg

I got around to installing my old shifter as well, it makes a world of difference. I absolutely love this thing. It's so simple to customize and I change it up every once in a while to see what feels best.

http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/...pssvakfjyx.jpg

http://i1382.photobucket.com/albums/...pskkuee0yj.jpg
And I finally plugged the holes in the bumper from the previous owner and installed new bumper plugs. I'm sure those with a good eye spotted the Takata strap in the grille too. That's another part that made its way from the civic to here.
