Re: Europe poorboy EG6
Are you still planning on experimenting with the datalog display? Very interesting, and you schematics/breakdowns are genius. Hope your still tinkering with this, I notice the thread is rather old.

Oh wow! Sorry, I didnt see the last page! Most recent post only a couple weeks old, yay. Have you considered producing anything on a large scale and marketing it?

Re: Europe poorboy EG6
Still working on it, I want to finish it, finish the code and do some major test on the car before planning to sell a few ones. Hope this happens after the summer ends.

Re: Europe poorboy EG6
updates!!
mostly honda ecus have a 4 pin port called cn2 or cn3, this port allows getting info from sensors or any thing ecu have stored in.
The idea is connect an arduino with a lcd and display this info.
The comunication is simply, cn2 port have 2 comunication pins, rx and tx, so we send a byte corresponding with the address where the info is stored and the ecu reply us with the data (1 byte too). This comunication is enabled by the quick datalogging + rtp plugin from Crome, is supposed to work with ectune changing only the addresses but don't tested because no ectune in my hands at the moment, you need disable checksum too and J12 jumper removed to enabled full duplex mode.
The addresses depends on the ecu model, I am using an european JDM P30, but other ecus addresses can be found on the net. The formulas to interpret the data into something we can understand are on the net too, basically here:
http://code.google.com/p/rzdash/
http://code.google.com/p/civic-dash/
I finished with all the hardware and now I am working to finish the code.
Here are some photos during the process.
Hope to finish the software soon. Any questions are welcome!

Dude, no words for some of the things your doing in this thread. Coming from a tech head myself not to mention an avid honda/car enthusiast.... this is like **** to me lol. Keep up the amazing work, crazy stuff.

Another one saved. Nice work man. The car has come such a long way. The rims that were on the car when you purchased it were disgusting. Hope you took them to the scrapper so they couldn't be used again. hahaha. Good luck with the build.

Great Thread, and Mr DiSCLAiMER, i wasnt sleeping because of the s2000 cluster swap, it is expensive for my country economy, and i am paying the bank loan for the car, so now i am going to call my boss and sell the damn vacation, again, i got do this or i am going crazy, i dont understand nothing about Arduino, but i am interested to learn. And great work and that's a great machine you have there.

exhaust update.
bought a cheap 2.25" exhaust, my mid section was pretty rusted and previous owner deleted the small silencer on the stock mid pipe so, in the anual local inspection gave me an advise for it. Only for getting out rusted things from the car worth it.
I ordered the exhaust for eg6, but when I tried to fit in the car it doesn't with the chassis, mid section was too longer so it stayed down the fuel tank I don't know if this exhaust is not for eg or the usa/uk catalytic converter are shorter.
the final section was impossible to fit because bends where in touch with the rear sway bar and it doesn't reach to the mid section, so I can't bolt it.
In a long story, I can't return the item so I was able to cut the mid section about 5 cm, dewelded a flange, cut the pipe and welded the flange like it was, now it fitted ok.
Final tip remains in home, I don't know whats happening, if it's for another model or what, anyway I will leave here some pic's compared to a genuine spoon N1 eg6 to hope anyone trow me some light on this.

Re: Europe poorboy EG6
nice but reading the sensors by the serial port available in the ecu it's better as you don't have to take care about cutting down the signals to 5v or fight with the noise.

Re: Europe poorboy EG6
for sure, i'm developing an arduino shield to read 12v sensor like you for a track car that don't want to use the typical defi or other brands gauges. I'm trying to use optocouplers that is supposed to shield the noise, but I have to give a try the 2 inline resistors way.
for the bluetooth com you want to do I recommend a cheap bluetooth module called HC-06 that I used for another project, the module costs around $5 and works like a charm. Here is a simple code done by me interfacing with arduino and android https://github.com/pablobuenaposada/arduino-HC-06
Hope it helps

Re: Europe poorboy EG6
probably cat length and coupe/hatch differences too because the mid section seem not fitting because of the length of the cat but the final section didn't fit because bends were completintly wrong as probably were for a coupe?? I think so.
