I've seen it where the wiring to the motor is the problem, not the switch. Does your window do Auto-down with a regular North American switch? Get out a multi-meter and start checking the connectivity to the correct pin output on the switch connector (ie., on the switch proper), and to the motor.

I'll look into that. I feel like my wiring is probably ok though because it was a brand new door harness. The US switch works in auto down just fine too. Sorry to kind of take over your thread with these questions.

Great build, lots of very cool extras.

Have you had the hatch painted yet? Some up to date pictures would be nice.

Took me a couple of days to read this whole thread and man was it worth it! Great project man! Let me know if you ever come across the brackets for the rear speakers in the hatch with a gathers set up in a 92 Honda. I have the cover and the black insert but not the metal bracket the speakers mount to. Thanks

Hmm, so you have a trunk box interior but don't have the metal brackets for the rear speakers? But you do have the covers and the inner shrouds/bezels?

for a hatchback, I have the Gathers set up with dual speakers by the rear seats. I think I may now have the same issue you spoke about with the difference in years and fitment. But either way I am missing the metal plate the speakers attach to. I have the grill covers and inner shroud. I do not have the rear compartment. Thanks

It's that time of year again: Time to put on winter tires. One reason being that I currently have magnesium rims (an optional rim for the 88-91 JDM Prelude, and SUPER LIGHT!!!), which as far as I've read do not hold up well to **** winter conditions including salt, plus I have a summer-only tire on there... yikes.

I found these before I left for NZ in 2015, never put rubber on them. JDM Optional rim for 92-95 Civics. But, since I now have the RTSi around, I need to juggle more sets of tires. Plan is for a set of Nokian Nordman WRs, which are the same as the old Nokian WRs before they updated their offering to something more flash and correspondingly upped the price.

Loving those JDM Prelude wheels! Another amazing find. But are they as light as my sweet-*** VX rims?!

Some upgrades yet to come: "Purchased" (traded parts for, really) a black JDM Long Armrest off an H-T member here, with the matching SiR-S fabric. This is the ONLY long armrest I was interested in, and was pleasantly surprised when I found one for sale. Only hitch: no brackets, but I took the time while at derek_k's place to measure dimensions of his, and I will design these in AutoCAD so I can fabricate them, and then share the design.

any chance you have the metal brackets for the speakers in AutoCAD? Or have a spare set laying around?

I admit to having a lot of optional crap for my car. There's a lot of dumb stuff that I don't want, so I'm OK there (I'm looking at you, ancient Gathers tape-playing head units...). Still, there's the occasional weird or useful thing (typically from JDM-land) that I'm curious about. But, it's rare to come across something I don't have yet. Alas, there's still the occasional win:

Yep, picked this silly thing up courtesy of a seller in Colorado. Since I do have the trunk box interior, figured why not? Needs a bit of a tidy up but otherwise in fine condition for 25 years old.

Here it is in the Honda Access catalogue:

Missed this originally:

Yes, but it is not 15mm. It is a smaller diameter, either 13 or 14mm if memory serves. These bars are also on other 5G Civics, but the 15mm tended to be reserved for the vehicles with B-Series motors.

I used a serrated M8x1.25 flange nut (whiz nut) and a washer, to spread out the force of the tightened bolt over a larger area. Fairly easy to get my fingers in there to get them on; pretty easy upgrade. Definitely recommend you chase out the threads on the LCA too before you bolt everything in... lots of gunk caked up in there.
How interesting! My USDM '94 Si had the captured nuts present on my subframe, but my LCAs were not tapped for rear sway bar.

15mm is nice, I got what I believe to be a 14mm from the EX sedan. Are you worried about the rear subframe tearing at all?

You cannot fit a 13" rim over the front calipers on a 5th gen Si, can you? I tried getting a set of 13s for winter driving and they would not mount in front.

Not sure if the Si w/ ABS uses a different caliper...

LCAs I obtained from a 89-91 Civic or CRX with the sway fitting. Same p/n as used in Europe for non-ABS 5G with sway.

Not worried since 15mm is a stock piece on certain models of this Civic.

Si w/ ABS is larger up front; 13s don't fit.

Good question! Why is the sky blue? Nobody knows. But seriously, it's an odd design difference to change for the small Canadian market. Different connector on alternator, different ECU. JDM had ELD, EDM ... dunno.

^ Correct. There are slight differences between countries in terms of specific offerings and details but with few exceptions the model names stayed the same so all the countries are lumped together informally to make an "EDM".

Fixed headlight washer pump motor again. It gets seized from lack of use. The motor has no seal that stops washer fluid from entering the area with the brushes / commutator / field windings, so it will seize if I don't press the button every so often. Guess I have to remember to squirt my headlamps more regularly.
