Re: Bryce's Honda life in Fargo build thread!
I'm done with Facebook builds. Time to get back to the forum grind after 4 years of not updating.
Time to get some of you up to speed... again.
Sold the gun metal EG racecar. Sold the roadrunner. Sold the truck.
The builds with include this line up of cars; 00 Honda CRV Ex 5-speed (Dog/DD beater/tow rig), 06 Civic Si (Summer DD), 88 Honda Crx Si (Retired from racing so I can drive it more), 92 Rusty Cx (racecar)
Pretty rusty right? Thanks Minnesota lol.
1st thing is to gut everything, and start cutting. I need every pound of weight savings I can to get the most out of the small motor I will be working with.
Before I pulled the dash, SRS, heater ****, but after sound deading removal.
After removing everything and cleaning.
Got the car out of the garage, cleaned up and started mocking up the turbo parts I have collected over the winter.
Got some Lenso's, Greddy FMIC, just a lame progress pic.
I finished rebuilding the Y8, over the winter.
Starter y8 build;
ARP's
OEM head gasket, wp, timing belt,
ported the head, replace a burnt valve.
tapped the pan
valve adjust
SO a stock y8 with ARP's is what the plan is until I can get the built bottom end together. I just want to get it on the track asap so no time for that, and we are on a budget
Tossed the motor in the car, got it running NA.
Then put the turbo kit on it.
Garrett t3/t4 .57 trim, Turbosmart 45mm wastegate, Turbosmart BOV, The FMIC piping is Sheepybuilt, 1000cc injectors, 255 fuel pump, s300, innovative wideband. $57 dollar cast ebay manifold lol! Hopefully it works until I can find a better one haha. $32 ebay dual core rad.
38 to 44mm vband adapter fit good for the wastegate. Time to weld up the exhaust pipe and finish wiring the car and I should be ready for the first track day that is two weeks away.
got a dolley to haul it to the track with, and tested it out by pulling it to work one day with my Crv to work on it.
Looking less shitty in every picture.
I got a welder picked up some flanges and decided to build my own hood exit. It turned out okay, got a little too close to the rad.
Another angle of the motor up close.
I wanted to make a V stack into the turbo so here is how you do it!
Take a nice clean JDM head light.
Then cut a 4inch hole in it and run your stack though it.
Got it ready to start.
Victory! Having problems with the injectors I got. Had to wire in a resistor box, and they were suppose to be 1ooocc, but the appear to be 240cc. Its weird, I'll try to sort this out or just toss in a buddys 750s.

Re: Bryce's Honda life in Fargo build thread!
Injector problem is figured out. Got the car running good and ready for the track.
Took some time to bling it out here a bit.
I got this 2014 mustang GT carbon fiber lip for free, so decided to try to make it work on the junk hatch. Turned out great lol! Cost me a total of $5 with the garden trim I used with the CF lip lol! I'm really liking how it looks now.
I'm super happy with the build guys. Well wish me luck at the track tomorrow testing and tuning!

Re: Bryce's Honda life in Fargo build thread!
Came here for the Honda Life in Fargo, went away seeing a lot of other Hondas being restored, so not disappointed. 8.5/10 would recommend this thread, were it not for the deceptive title⸮

The 8th gen is my DD and perfect how it sits right now. I haven't changed a thing since 2012 on the car.
Well my best time at the track was a 19.3@slowashell, the wastegate spring was too strong so we never made a pass at more then 50% throttle. The tranny was junk too.
I picked up a good y8 tranny, got a 7 pound spring and a boost controller, now we are ready to rock for the next track day.

Re: Bryce's Honda life in Fargo build thread!
Thank you! That means a lot coming from you.
Okay updates!
Crv updates first.
Tossed a LS head on it since it burnt a valve and had the valve sink problem that most hi milage crv's get. Did the TB, water pump, all the goodies to get it ready for the next 100k.
New head.
Okay shes all fixed up and done.
Now onto the crx, it was in a local car show. STILL needs body work and paint, so I'm game planning on the best way to go about that is. Most my plastics are diffrent colors from replacing some of them back when you could get them from Honda. Now its a real pain in the ***. I rewired the entire front of the crx fixing a **** wire tuck we did 12 years ago now.
Yooo, cheap wheels looking good
B vs D
Raceday for the Hatch!
First day of racing we were test and tuning, racing it after never driving it a inch is always a good idea.
-vtec sil leaking bad-axle seal leaking bad-3rd gear was toast-passenger side front brake was dragging-wastegate spring was NOT 7, it was 12+. So I had a ton of stuff to fix for the next track day a few weeks later.
Got it home, ordered a 7 pound spring for the WG, picked up a solid tranny and cleaned the **** out of it.
Spent some big money ($45) upgrading my front brakes.
new
And if your going to go fast you need a wing right? So I made one. Turned out pretty good for my first try.
Made some mirror deletes to go along with the wing and Mustang lip so I can keep this beast on the track lol
Out at the track for the 2nd time with all of my first batch of problems fixed.
The hauler.
Made a ton of passes and started feeling out the car at 7 psi
Started the day at 19's tuning it at the track, worked my way down to 13's then they made us race 1/8th mile from high wind. I did cut 1.52 60ft right after track prep, that time seems nuts with out LSD but damn it was a hard launch.
And the 06 just was a solid DD like always, looking good.
I'll update this as I work on the hatch more getting it ready for the next race day! Hope you guys enjoyed.

Re: Bryce's Honda life in Fargo build thread!
Okay guys, update time.
I got a new tow rig so I can haul the racecar longer distances. Picked up this 08 ridgeline thats in good shape, one owner.
Did a bunch of work to it. Catback, new oem tail lights, shell, Bfgoodwrench K02's, painted the wheels black, matching center caps, and a ton of small ****.
The new tow setup.
I count find center caps for Lenso's so I made some myself. They turned out great and really make the car look more finished.
How the car looks now.
Mmmmmm, RUST!
And some video's. Ran 3 13.0xx@103 passes, if I would have had one more I think I could have got a 12.9x out of the car.
I'll upload the video's in a sec here.

Re: Bryce's Honda life in Fargo build thread!
I see Photobucket destroyed my thread.. How sad.
I'll try to switch hosting at some point to restore the thread to its former glory
Ended up running a 12.5@107 with the D turbo Zero on 7psi. Cranked it to 14psi and it could have for sure ran a 11 second quarter, however, I ran out of time and my s300 died.
The Crx has been getting a make over. Speedfactory turbo kit, new wheels, hopefully paint some time soon. I have been building a 600hp LsVtec that should be done soon to toss into the Crx. I'll update more as that starts to fall into place.
Save the build threads guys!

Enjoy the squat pose
Video of the Zero's fastest passes. The lights are burned out on the lane I'm on so it always looks like 13's but the last pass was a 12.50@107
I managed to cut a 1.52 sixty foot open diff with this car haha
P.s. What hosting should I switch everything too now? Recommendations?

Re: Bryce's Honda life in Fargo build thread!
I'm trying to restore some of the pictures to this build, many of them will not make any sense and are out of order. I apologize.
As the crx build comes to together I will make sure that everything is back in order!

Re: Bryce's Honda life in Fargo build thread!
New rims and tires, ktuned traction bar, half rad for the turbo kit, made custom low rad supports with bushings, skunk2 eg rad, R888 ties for the front 225/50/15, small battery relocated. Speedfactory turbo kit, and a built LsVtec is the plan for next season along with new paint. I have most of the turbo kit and the motor is nearly done.
