After hours with a wire wheel and mineral spirits, this is what I came up with.
Tools that I used.

Picture of the bearing pressed in with the dustshield installed. I'm a little worried about that c-clip. I don't think it seated all the way. Hopefully my bearing won't pop out on me.
Pressing the hub back in with the Harbor Freight bearing tool.
Now its time to clean these up. bump.

Re: averyvm's EG buid - Stock LS Turbo
Finally I broke down and had my brake caliper sand blasted. I had tried so many different things in efforts to get the calipers down to bare metal, but nothing worked. I tried mineral spirits with a wire wheel. This work ok on the knuckle but no so good on the brake caliper. I also tried paint stripper (Didn't do much either.) After a few days of smelling fumes I broke down and took it to a machine shop to have it sand blasted. Best part is the guy did it for free.
In hindsight this may have been a little overkill for just one stock brake caliper. I didn't touch the caliper on the other side.
New brake parts
I got it all back together however the brake pedal feels a little mushy. I tried doing a one man brake bleeder job but that was a waste of time.
This is part of a side project.
I am trying to make a remote ignition system that uses two arduinos. One arduino will be the remote, and the other arduino will issue the starter signal and monitor/transmit the engine coolant temp.
The design criteria is as follows
*start car remotely with a single button press
*once engine starts running engine temperature can be monitored from the remote.
*Starter remote must be compact.

Re: averyvm's EG buid - Stock LS Turbo
Hey Guys,
I know its been a long while since an update
I'm contemplating on what direction to go with the car now...
I want to take it up a notch.
Here are some things that I would like to accomplish.
Paint the car myself and do a full color change. (Paint the engine bay, lizard skin the inside)
I also want to reinstall the turbo.
I also would like to upgrade to Integra front brakes.
My car is leaking water into the cabin after it rains. After further invstigation this is what I found.
Left Hinge
Right Hinge
Right HInge underside
Left Hinge Underside
I'm not sure how to go about fixing this one. It looks like I need to first find a donor vehicle and buy a sawzall.
Here are some integra knuckles I picked up from the Junkyard.

Re: averyvm's EG buid - Stock LS Turbo
I just had a major break through.
I was able to power my ecu on the bench using a PC power supply.
Also I was able to connect to the demon wirelessly using bluetooth (thank you hrtunning)
A little modification that I did to the adapter so that it would lay flat in the ecu case
Installed in the ecu (no usb cable connected and no car in sight
connected!

Re: averyvm's EG buid - Stock LS Turbo
Long Story Short, I started cutting on my civic in efforts to fix the rust. Little did I know this
would turn into a huge project.
Stopped cutting at this point. This was the point of reassembley.
I wire wheeled this up and hit with weld-thru primer and started adding new metal from donor car.
New metal added from donor junkyard car. I would use the original roof skin to cover this support
beam.
Found out the original roof skin was rusty. Endup having to fab up some patch panels out of sheet
metal. Definately harder than it looks on TV.
Patch panel
Patch panel welded up
At his point I was woried about stitch welding the roof skin using a butt joint because the metal
is so thin.
So I welded in a thin strip of steel to form a lap joint.
This made the stitch welding easier.
Notice you can't see the strip of metal used for support.
Starting the stich welding process
finished the welding using a straight-edge to show the warpage.
Enough metal work for now taped up for 2 part epoxy primer
Epoxy primer applied
Seam sealer applied
New Railing clips
First time mixing body filler
First coat of filler applied on top of epoxy primer
After alot of sanding we're getting there!
Taping up for primer
I think this may be the 3rd coat of primer with block sanding in between coats using guide coat.
last sanding before applying base coat
Base coat applied
Clear coat
After the dust has settled and the tape has been removed.
My air setup

Re: averyvm's EG buid - Stock LS Turbo
Interior Shot as it sits now.
Sometimes I did my self into a hole.
At this point there were a few things that I would like to add to the the wiring.
Wireless ignition
Keyless entry
I wanted to tidey up the door speakers.
The reason why this is important because I installed factory power windows in this car and the speaker harnes for the passenger side door connects to the main harness behind the dash. This motivated me to take out the main wire harness, which I probably shouldn't have done.
Long story short,
The pedals and steering wheel came out also.
Now I'm contemplating doing a brake line and fuse box tuck since its all apart anyway.
But I've never flared brakes lines before so we'll see.
Engine is out also. This give me a chance to paint the bay and get the radiator support nice and strait.
