1991 CRX tear down and restoration
Hey guys long time ef owner 16 years, just picked up a 91 crx dx with a blown motor a week ago, I have a 91 civic si hatch that is pretty rusted, so I'll be swapping the full civic si wiring drivetrain and suspension in the coming weeks. Me and a buddy have gone full tear down in the last 4 days both crx and the civic I'll post pictures of what I've done so far.

Hey guys been a while got the car together and she's running and driving, will do more as cash and time permit lol
New hub and hub bearings
Replacing leaky valve seals, it smoked like crazy :0
D16a6 with the y8 manifold swap runs great!

Replacing the shifter bushings with energy suspension replacements, shift feel rocks! Feels even better than brand new rubber.
Brand new oxygen installed
Thermal intake gasket from speedfactory, mainly using for ability to reuse gasket not so much heat transfer worries 😜
3d printed cup holder to replace the ashtray? Hell yes
Went for a test drive after I fired up the engine only to find I needed a new brake booster 😱
Just a heads up, if you have a d16 with a y8 manifold in a crx, cut that ear off the end of the intake manifold to get your old brake booster out or you are going to cuss alot 😠😡😅😅

Sexy
Couldn't find an original crx ground cable, this 2014 honda accord one works just fine 😅

Re: 1991 CRX tear down and restoration
Bought a rusted out junker crx for cheap with a decent interior and swapped it into mine along with the driver side door, fender, and a few odds and ends since the originals were pretty beat up. I'll have the seats reupholstered eventuslly they have a couple rips and tears but hey they are original seats, prior to this when I bought the car it came with a del sol seat holding on by one bolt in the front and the grace of God lol previous owner didn't even attempt to swap the rails just threw a bolt in and sent it.
Rear brakes were starting to grind. Picked up some eBay special rotors and Wagner Thermoquiet pads, I used these on every customer car as a mechanic probably the best daily driver pads I've ever installed, low dust and never squeak. Tokico blue shocks off my civic hatch with Tein springs, rides decent and the stance is nice imo.
Rear control arm bushing were pretty crusty figured since I was doing the brakes anyway I slapped some of these on there to match my rims LOL!
Picked up a p28 for cheap from a dude near me off craigslist. He said it was a virgin ecu but I don't trust anybody lol. I cracked it open and its gotta be the CLEANEST computer board I've ever seen wow! If I win the lottery I want to use hondata s300 haha, but I may end up just getting a chip burner and doing it myself since im poor.
Just rolled over 330k on the body last week figured it was picture worthy haha
That's all for now probably gonna be after April before I can afford to do anymore work to it see you guys then ✌
