Did you try using gas to get the tar residue off? Not sure If i mentioned it or not but the por has a very had time sticking to tar like undercoating. It sticks fine to the OEM stuff but anything soft and aftermarket the paint just kinda runs off it.

I'm definitely no Ground Control expert. Give em a call man I'm sure they got what you need! And if not just go buy a set of oem ones and have them extended. People do it all the time!

Re: **Milano Red DC4 Project**
So I've never rebuilt an engine myself so I made a trip up Speedfactory, a local shop in Tacoma, to get some parts and info.
The guys there were nothing but helpful and hooked it up with good prices on all the parts I needed. They go through the same Japanese distributor that Honda uses for gaskets/seals/pumps/etc and they run the same stuff in there 600+ hp motors so I'm not worried the least and saved a nice chunk of change
Also started workin on cleanin up some suspension stuff and got the rear all ready to install
F7's
ASR
Love this combo!

Re: **Milano Red DC4 Project**
Ya it'll definitely be worth it when its done. Whenever that may be haha
Got a pretty busy work week comin up but will hopefully find some time to work on the car. Gettin so close I can taste it!
After work today I made a trip up north to Tacoma to pick up another nice piece I've been tryin to find for a little while. Found a set for a nice price and local!
Honda Access ITR pedal covers
They are used but still in pretty good condition and for the price I'm not complainin.
More updates soon!

Re: **Milano Red DC4 Project**
I know for sure haha. My plan is to get the car completely ready to start up then towin it up to a local shop to have them do the fresh start/break in as well as a dyno tune to get the car running nice and smooth right off the bat!

Hell yeah the dyno is the best way to break in an engine. You need to seat the rings all the way up to the top of the cylinder wall. If you dont, the rings may form a tiny ledge and when you finally do bring the rpm's up the rods will stretch, allowing the compression ring to contact that ledge and possibly damage it.

Re: **Milano Red DC4 Project**
So this last weekend of work went pretty poopy. Took some pics to show you guys what I'm talkin about.
Last weekend we got the main bearings and crank gauged and installed in there no problem.
Same day installing the mains we were having a lot of trouble getting the ends off the rods that just recently had ARP bolts installed. Finally got one off and got a piston and rod in and when installing the rod end onto the crank destroyed a bearing
Ended up having to buy a new set of bearings..
Started workin on installing the pistons and rods again and on cylinder one barely tappin it into the cylinder cracked one edge of a ring on
Second one went down the cylinder smooth but when we went to install the rod (Same rod that destroyed the last bearing) bearing got destroyed again.
The rod is overclamping the bearing causing it to over compress and mess it all up.
So here's my f'd ACL's
So here is an example of a good rod end. Notice the nice straight edge and circular hole
And here is an example of the rod end that is totally f'd
Notice the wavy edge and oval shaped hole. If you look closely you can see there is also a hairline crack on the edge of the indent
This would have caused an instant engine cease for sure.
I already ordered new rods so once they get here I gotta get my pistons pressed on to them and get a new ring for that piston. I may just pay to have it assembled to relieve some stress on me.
I'm going into Johnson tomorrow to see what they say but I'm sure they will just say you shouldn't put aftermarket bolts in stock rods. Hopefully they have a little better customer service than that.
One new thing I did get I got from a local buddy ek4_carl on here is some GS-R cams to replace my dinky stock b16 cams.
Little more aggressive cam should be a nice little upgrade in comparison for the price! Thanks again homie I'll get at you soon!
Sorry for the crappy update fellas.
Hopefully get some more stuff done this week. Still need to get a few more suspension pieces and mounts but it's gettin closer by the week haha

Re: **Milano Red DC4 Project**
Man thats so shitty that they messed up your rods. thats such an unprofessional mistake to make on their part. Looks like the just put way too much force on the bolts when pressing them in.
