I've put my JE's through thick and thin, they laughed and show within 1 psi of compression difference between all cylinders.

Bump for a thread that shouldn't die. Any updates on the testing?

Jeff's testing of the pistons is up on his website. Check it out, you'll enjoy what he has to say.

Well it has been almost 4 years since the testing was to be conducted. Did Jeff ever complete the testing and does he have results? Very interested...Guess reguardless of results you need to keep in mind that this was piston manufacture quality in 2004. The quality could have very well changed knowing it is years later...

I use JE compression 11.... very happy used for over 15thousand miles no issue at all. Like someone said in all motor i think most of them will do the job 100% but since i have experience with JE i will stick with them. Besides i use a small lash between cilinder and piston and have no noise issues, something i had before with arias recomended lash.

looked at the wiseco stuff before i went with the mahle power pack. it's a choice that hasn't been mentioned and sells at a very attractive price point. i paid $380 for a set of 81.25s with rings. pistons weighed 273.X grams, 4032 alloy, nitraded steel top rings. piston to wall is .set at 0025 to .003 in normal apps. as most of us know you can take that out to .004 or .005 if you have massive boost or nitrous. in my opinion it was hard to beat a company who has such a heavy presence in racing & piston design that sold for less than the rest.

a few posts back someone asked about how long forged pistons would go in a normal NA DD motor. a piston that is able to run without problems at .003 and uses a good ring should outlive the OE honda stuff. the rings are far stronger in the mahle set and most other aftermarket. as long as the rings seat right and you don't scar the wall you should be golden.

the only NA motor that was ever made with forged pistons that i have been exposed to on a frequent basis came in the 87-88 mustang 5.0 they used a forged press pin speed pro. those 302's also ran as long or longer than the cast piston units that they switched to from 89+

Because there is no answer to this question. That's why this thread has been here over 12 years.
