are you sure your not off a tooth on the timing belt

any smoke coming out the exhaust? do another compression check and see if it lowered any

what injectors? stock?
Check for any major vacuum leaks?

Re: Whats wrong with this engine???

this may sound ridiculous but I also had a similar problem try rechecking the vacuum diagram for the egr solenoid and the feul pressure regulator. Those two are usually close together and get mixed.

Stock 01 itr injectors.
No leaks.

Did something very similar with my y8, i had the IACV plug mixed with one of the other ones, swapped them and ran just fine.

Iac is plugged in correctly.

http://C:\Users\Turbomx-6\Pictures\vacuum diagra.gif the mix up on mine after the new engine swap was vacuum hose 16 and 24 where mixed. The small stuff sucks

Re: Whats wrong with this engine???

I said injector cause I had a similar problem with mine and they were not getting enough fuel to the cylinder holes although I had full compression, fuel pressure etc. The ONLY way i got my car to run and drive was to hold the throttle open and to get it in for tuning full throttle just to go 40mph. IMO sounds like its lacking fuel.

Re: Whats wrong with this engine???

When I prime the motor the fpg reads 42, then reads 0 after it stops priming. Should pressure remain in the line?

Re: Whats wrong with this engine???

Yes u should have constant pressure. Now after about an half hour it should bleed back down to 0 psi. But not within a 5 minute window.

Re: Whats wrong with this engine???

Looks like from the vid that ur valve seals on the exhaust side could have taken a shit on u and possibly be fouling out that cylinder b/c u can clearly hear a distinctive misfire. It's gotta be that or a slightly bent valve or for some reason the timing isn't set right. Question y do u have the camgears at -2 , and + 2 u should try 0 and 0 and see if that works better cam gear tuning should be done when the car is running perfect or if the cams have been degreed.

Re: Whats wrong with this engine???

Before I did the valve adjustment the fuel would read like you said, dropped to 0 after awhile, I noticed that after priming it there was no pressure.. This could be a result of poor seals? The cams were set before I installed the motor, and supposedly was running fine.

leakdown test

Re: Whats wrong with this engine???

Have you checked your fuel filter, fuel pump and fpr? is your system grounded? If you had bent valves it would be smoking like a chimney and be missing TERRIBLY. It sounds to me like a mix of no fuel and poor timing.

I would take a close look at the fuel system. Something isn't right if your pressure is dropping to 0 pretty quick you may have a leak. Do you have spare injectors? How does your oil look/smell? Can you tell if there is any gas in it?

Re: Whats wrong with this engine???

Bent valves
timing sounds off like by 2 teeth
or somethings wrong with your ign system.. that sounds godawful.

DDTECH 08-20-2010 11:52 AM

Re: Whats wrong with this engine???

I got a map for you to try if you'd like to try it... running a stock oem map is stupid and dumb and using a chip that isn't made for your car is dumber.. i have a tuned setup i did a few months back i can send you the bin.

that sounds.. awful.

Re: Whats wrong with this engine???

double check everything i want pics of the cam gears being lined up,

Adjust your cam gears too btw..

you should leave your gears at 0/0 i'm pretty sure you may have slightly bent a few valves.

Re: Whats wrong with this engine???

OH HEY TRY THIS lol. This happen to me this year putting my motor back together it was missing horribly. Ur injector seals check them spray water around the injector seals a little bit not alot and see if the motor changes tune. That will make the motor out of time b/c of a vacuum leak for that runner.

Re: Whats wrong with this engine???

^ I'm assuming I would put water around where the injectors meet the manifold or the rail?

YEA, the water would get sucked in by the vacuum leak and choke out the motor. If that doesnt change then its probably not leaking. Best way to do it is with a squirt bottle, or brake cleaner works well too.
