VTEC supposedly not working on newly built B16A motor

Did you forget the oil control orfic in the middle cam cap and the o ring??

You should dissasemble your head, taking pictures of everything each step. We could probably pick out whats wrong.

That would be a last resort type situation.

I had asked him about the o-ring. He said that it was in there.

ya, the o-ring is there...triple checked it. looks like there in no other way but to disassemble the head.

i would make sure you have the right head gasket and also that whoever assembled the head put it together correctly.

head gasket is correct. P30. I bought it myself.

this was two years ago. There are numerous reasons why vtec will not work, it is best to do some research in the model specific forums (check the faq). If you cant find the info you need, post in the model specific forums and someone will assist you
