get hastings rings from autozone, i think they were like 50 something

Yeah i was thinking Hastings also, i can get those for like $40 since my buddy is a store manager at Autozone, and the NPR's go for like $40 on ebay, but I was told by the man who is gonna machine and balance my crank that he reccomends total seal rings for more H.P. , less blow by and so on. But are the gains worth $190 for the total seal rings versus $40 for Hastings or NPR? Which series of Hastings rings should I get?

total seal gapless rings have been known to have issuses sealing properly in honda motors.

i would save a few bucks and stick with the hastings and/or npr rings

The method they use to make the second ring gapless hurts its ability to scrap oil off the cylinder walls.This is even worst on thin rings like Honda's (and most imports) use.Stick with the oem,Hastings,or NPR ring sets.

had total seal before in a mildly built b16 they lasted 15k before they started to go, by 20k she burned a quart every 1500 miles

now i stick with oem

how much did you pay for yours and which brand and series did you use?

I ordered the PR3 pistons from RS Machine here on honda-tech and they came with a box of hastings rings...

don't know much more.,..it was over a year ago. hope that helps

If I have to go oversized I will end up getting the RS piston and ring set
