Suggestions Needed: SiR2 b16a with CTR cams, I/H/E - Mods before opening the engine?
Okay so I have my ej1, it's been a fun ride, reliable etc. I put the CTR cams in, and tuned it. Made 156whp 110wtq on a ebay crap header and SRI,and a straight through 2 1/4in exhaust. So, now I have a 3in CAI, KN filter, RMF narrow rep header, and am going with a 3 in exhaust. I'll probably be straight through with the exhaust beside a 3in ultra quiet vibrant resonator, and my ktuned 3in turn down muffler.
That all being said, what else would be worth while doing before I go get retuned? The p30 intake manifold is basically unbeatable up to 8k, if I get a 66/68mm throttle body, I'll have to port match it.
I don't think it'd be worth doing anything to the TB or IM unless I found a fully ported p30 matched to a 66mm or so tb. Or should I go performer X with a 66mm?
^^ that's pretty much all there is left to do before I crack the motor open, right?

If you can afford it the Performer X would likely yield some mid range gains (definitely top end) especially in conjunction with the header you've chosen. Those RMF headers seem to be built for high RPM useage (they're a 4-1 design correct?) Kinda sounds like you're trying to get some mid range out of this for a fun daily, it may have been a bit better to get a 4-2-1 header.
I would consider the Performer X and a 66->68mm throttle to be a worthwhile upgrade for your engine. It would compliment the larger intake tube you have as well.
What are you planning to do after opening the engine? With the bolt ons you've selected, and the mid-range power you seem to be aiming for, I don't really know if there's many gains to be had for you switching out pistons or anything like that at this point, unless you're just reinforcing the engine.

I have another car that's more of a project, so I am going to be focusing on that, and sort've backburning the civic after said mods are done.
I mean if I do open it up,and stay all motor; ill prolly go high 11 or 12.1 comp nippon pistons, arp head studs,b20 block, arp rod bolts, accompanied with my b16 head ---- I have a b20 bottom end just sitting around. But that's very far in the future, and realistically I'm going to end up boosting it anyway.
So the performer X would be worth it over the p30 now? I don't have a lot of dough to throw at this car, I feel the gains would be miniscule? Also disregard my saying I'm going boost in the future,I want to buy parts (if theres any worthy bolt ons left lol) and retune, and be done with this car for the next season or two.
Tia dudes.
