So I'm doing a NA build and I've got my valve train picked out and ready to order
But I wanted to know if I did a stroker kit with 14:1 pistons if i have to do
any other things to my block/head so i dont blow it

Re: stroker on a b16
I'm doing 84.7mm and even though my crank was machined twice and my bearings are .50mm oversize, car runs great!
I just got a 89mm crank now, and as soon as I start having bearing issues due to the fact that my crank was machined, and got no treatment etc etc I will be moving to a 82x89 with 14:1 comp.
EG6 master will most like pursuade you to run 1.6L and rev 15krpm to get some power. Though, In my simple opinion, making power out of a 1.6L is a hard job, and you would need to work your transmission and stuff to take advantage of the ridiculous powerband.
Go for a stroker and be Happy, you don't need to rev as much, cur feels much more confortable for the streets, and powerband is great.

If you are talking about the problems I had with my build, then I'm gonna express it here:
I had machine shops problem in the first time I assembled it. Then the crank was re-machined and the block was sleeved and mains were re-honed twice till it was perfect.
It led to a block that was shaved arround .6mm and mains that were shaved arround 1mm. THis led to a piston sitting out of the deck arround .8mm
I had to shave the piston in order to fit, and revome the guides from the oil pump to align it.
Yes, it's ****ed up, my piston to head clearance is .3mm I wonder if it's not hitting when it's hot.
BUT none of this big mess has to do with using a stroker kit. I'm going up now, 82x89 with custom pistons with a lower deck in order to fit my ****ed up block. I don't have the money to get a new one, it's expensive in my country.
Now, tell me why I'm a liar

Re: stroker on a b16
there is one guy on here who is an expert at building stroker B16's, his sn is crx=si on H-T. Search for some of his posts if you want more info.
IMO the best way to go is with an LS crank, B16-length rods and custom pistons with the wristpin raised just the right amount. Some stroker kits use LS-length rods, which IMO is just plain stupid, If you are going to use LS length rods, just use an LS block. The advantage a stroker B16 gives you is the characteristics that a "short-rod" motor possesses.
