Default Poor Mans Type R

Here is what I have

B18C5 block
P30 Head
P73 ECU

Still need cams and valve springs. If I go with Skunk 2 stage 1 cams will everything run ok on the P73 ECU until I can get an S300?

what pistons???? as long as you arent running massively domed pistons or gigantic cams you will have very few issues running a mild cam descent compression pistons as long as everything is in time correctly....your setup is extremely mild and thus really pointless to start a new thread considering all the information you want is within several dozen older ones

Short block is a OEM complete B18C5. I really just want OEM cams but figure I mine as well get something a little better considering type r cams new are the same price as Skunk 2.

How is this a "Poor Man's" Type R? You have an actual B18C5, and the head of the B16 is the same as the Type R..

Boo.

It's not a p73 head, just a p30 that's been given some love. Same valve size, just lighter intake valves.

Oh i caught that, I was just referring to what a proper poor man ITR head job would need to be considered equal. the difference stock ITR to stock B16A head is what 5-15% higher flow maybe

Just say engine build and stop with with the ridiculous titling. You really want to argue over this or get the help you need? You can't have both.

Yes the oem ecu should run fine with those cams as long as you don't get into vtec and stay at 1/4 throttle while driving until its fully tuned, the low cam lobes are still within oem cam specs. In my opinion you don't have a "poor mans Type R" unless you have a oem ITR gear box just saying..
