Default POLL: Who did your headwork?

Tired of sorting through countless and useless posts.....
After you vote:
What was done?
Turnaround time?
Overall satisfaction with customer service?

brad has had 2 of my heads, both ported previously. his work has been excellent and the turnaround time has been good with RLZ.
my other headwork was done by HRD who used to or still might do skunk2s heads which was excellent as well. however brad improved upon their work.
the other headwork i had done was with jeff at IB and the port work was good however the VJ was not and the head didnt flow for ****. barely better than stock. turnaround time was excellent 3 weeks.
HRD and RLZ both had my heads in the off season so neither had a serious rush to get done.

Well I'm getting head worked over by Brad @ RLZ. I'm shure it will flow great, because thats all he puts out are great heads. The turn aounrd time, that was a diffrent story.

I'm getting ready to send in a head to Combustion Contraption. So I had to put him on the list.

Thanks man.

There are a handful of guys on this forum running my cylinder heads, hopefully they can chime in with their experience.

Thanks for the kind words. Though i have done hundreds of heads, most of them were for a shop i worked for. I just recently started doing Honda heads on my own. Im a baby in this scene compared to Tom and Brad, but im no spring chicken with a grinder.

What needs to be "KNOWN" before headwork can begin?
Displacement?
Compression?
Cams?
Intake Manifold/TB?
Header?

you hit the nail on the head, cams, compression, RPM range, displacement. the rest is up to the porter.

Some match the cams to the head.

It'd probably be better if we didn't get into all that (unless you're just telling about the transaction). Unless you're designing an engine from scratch, theres too much involved for a headwork poll.

Got a few heads done for our race car and some of my homies cars by Mr. Gude. They all came out great and made great power. For the price you can't beat his packages.

Brad has a lot of satisfied customers on here and in the racing world. His list of credentials is ridiculous. My vote for the best bargain priced headwork would have to go to DonF. I know both George Knighton(the moderator on here) and Mike Corvey(VtecKiDD) have heads from Don. Feel free to ask them to comment on it.

I have had two heads done by Brad at RLZ. A B-Series and K-Series head.

I first started talking to Brad before he became super popular here on HT. Turnaround has always been good on all the parts I have gotten from him, heads, pistons, cams, and other parts.

Its funny how everyone still wants an RLZ head, but I cant sell mine for ****.

Damn, not a single vote for ALANIZ....thats a surprise to me. I know they have done some Honda Challenge heads. Although I know there are some strict limits to how much can be done, I don't think that would make a difference...
