omni power vs. JG vs. skunk2 vs. buddy club titanium retainers
hey all, just wondering what everyones take was on aftermarket retainers. looking into getting a set & wasn't sure if the extra 50 or so bucks was worth it to get the buddy club retainers versus say omni power or JG? also, anyone have any experience on whether the titanium retainers are better/worse than chromoly retainers?

What about supertech, ferra, rocketmotorsports, crower? Why not go forged Aluminum?(Supertech) I think as long as its a solid name, snap fit retainer/spring you'll be fine.

I wouldn't say that forged aluminum retainers are going to last as long as a good set of titanium retainers. But the aluminum ones are up to about 20% lighter than the titanium ones.

I'd like to know how you found out about the competition's process of heat treating the TI used in the production of their products.
Oddly enough, the last pair of Ti retainers that I owned which were crower wore out on the edge where you indicate they heat treat. They wore thin on the edge where they were touching the valve spring. While I did not have a new one to measure, all of the ones I had varied nearly 100% in thickness.

currently using omni retainers. no problems 400+hp, around 9000 rpms and 5000 track and daily driver miles

Specially "aged-hardened" precipitated metal can achieve a highly desirable thru-hardness as opposed to case hardened stock.

I have used Rocket,Omni,Skunk2,Supertech (both Alloy and Titanium),Buddyclub,
Crower and the only ones ever to wear out or fail was the Crower.I only ever use what the valve spring manufacturer recommends for there springs IMO the best way to do it I think.
