Hi there I own a 1995 Honda Civic ... I had my oil light come on. I thought I needed oil. But my oil was fine after I check it . Well the light went out and again it came back on after a mile or two. Then it started to make a little clicking sound so I pulled over as quick as I could. I turn off the engine as soon as could. I open the hood to see what was going on. I had a friend crank the engine while I list to the engine. the engine fire up kind of but was making that sound again. So I shut the engine off again and tow it to my shop. I could not get the engine to fire up again. I check the compression and it was fine. There is no spark in number one spark plug wire. is there a shut off switch or does the engine shut down when the oil pump goes out. Or something else?

Usually when the oil light comes on not from lack of oil, but from lack of oil pressure. May want to check oil pump and go from there.
