Default Milling

Im putting Crower stage 2 Vtec cams in my h22a head which is 10.6:1 stock. How much should I have the head milled for optimum compression to get as much power out of the cams as possible?

Dont mill the head; Get a 2 layer HG and some flat face valves. thats good for raising your CR by almost 1 full point. 11.5:1 is good enough for prettty much any cam and pump gas.

1 point is actually .1, so itd be 10.7 instead of 10.6 FYI. 10 points is 1.0

good to know. well the HG is good for .4 and the valves for .4-.5, so there you have it.

actually valves are more like 2-3 pts, and the hg all depends on which one you get and how thick it is. youd have to actually calculate the comp gain for the hg unless the mfg actually lists it for the specific app.

mugen states .4; skunk2 states .4 to .5 depending on application.

Yeah more like .2-.3, and yeah thing head gasket compression ratio comes from calculation.

and milling isnt just good for raising compression, in some/most cases improves quench pad, and turbluence effect.

watch out for valves and pistons though, clay is your friend
