Depending what comp. you want to go with I believe type-s pistons work with the frm.

Re: JUN Piston Kit for the H22 (JayJay2912)
I've been daily driving this motor, the tuning is spot on, the engines clocked up 25,000kms and having no issues.
Just be sure to take it to a machinest that has a Sunen machine capable of boring and honing FRM sleeves. The instructions are in the service manual the stone grit and RPM speed is very important.

"we replace to Darton casted liners or perfect bore liner with ceramic coating."
Id like to see this and how expensive it is.

Dear Mr. Jeremy
Thank you for your mail. Cosworth and Wossoner are forged piston for H22.Not FRM. When we use these, we replace to Darton casted liners orperfect bore liner with ceramic coating. The compression ratio is app12:1.Thank you,
---Junichi Tanaka <tanaka@junauto.co.jp>
So basically, I'd advise anyone going for an all motor build and NOT wanting to sleeve the block, go for Mahle, as JUN do NOT make FRM compatible pistons anymore. Unless of course you can get a set when they used to. But as of now, buying Pistons from JUN they do NOT work with the FRM lining.</TD></TR></TABLE>
wow, interesting. thanks for the info

Re: JUN Piston Kit for the H22
For me, the better question is what kind of machining/modification is needed for these to work with factory connecting rods. As i have read a disclaimer that states " Processing required when using factory connecting rods." - nengun.com
Or as an alternative you can buy JUN connecting rods, and then ALSO have to make modifications to your crank i believe.

Re: JUN Piston Kit for the H22
I am getting pretty tired of people complaining about people digging up threads with an actual question related to the topic. He was researching, that's great! We don't want people to be scared to post just because its an old thread.
Get over it.
Get over it.

Re: JUN Piston Kit for the H22
Thank you! I figure that i should rather bring an old post back rather than start a whole new thread with a question that may have already been answered, and since i haven't found my answer, i ASKED. So any valuable responses would be much appreciated.

Let's keep bumping this so maybe the non-existent OP comes back and says "oh thanks I will look into what you have stated, it only took 4 years for another person to chime in."

If it was just a question he had asked rather than a statement he made pertaining to his question, I would not have said anything...but he made a statement to a thread that the OP already got answers to. (4 years ago)

If you have nothing of value to add to this thread, please do not reply to this. Not trying to be bossy or anything, but things are changing around here and posting to post in the tech forums isnt going to fly anymore. Have a reason to post other than just achieving a higher post count or demeaning a legitimate question.
If you have nothing to add, dont post. Your post had no technical merit to either the original post or this new post.
The whole point of these forums is to allow people to ask questions. If members are giving other members crap for asking questions then we are working backwards. If you are troubled by someone asking a question in a 4 year old thread which has nothing at all to do with you, then you got some issues.
At least he is actually researching for himself instead of wanting to be spoon fed answers.
Thank you.
and back to the normally scheduled programming.

i think you may be getting confused. They most likely mean modification will be needed on the rod, not the piston. they need to be machined and have the bushings changed. But it would only apply if JUN has only floating fit wrist pins and the rods you are using have bushings for press fit pins. I'd imagine JUN uses floating wrist pins. If they have c-clips in them, they are floating.

Re: JUN Piston Kit for the H22
Okay thanks, i guess i was just confusing which parts actually needed the modification, as well as me being somewhat new to the specifics of the bottom end of an engine.
