Seriously, do not use Loctite.
Use whatever lubricant is recommended by the manufacturer and torque to spec.

Re: (b19coupe)

well we are using a 95mm crank from eagle and h-beam rods from eagle and acl bearings when i measured the oil clearance were good at 45 ft lbs and to me that is not tight enough

but what ur saying is to just put some type of lube on there?????

I don't know who's more hopeless, the OP, or the OP's friend for letting the OP build his motor.

Dude, we were trying to help you but loc-tite? Did you honestly think about that before you posted? Does honda assembly motors and put loc-tite on the mains? Better yet due professional engine builders use loc-tite on the mains? If the motor is going to let go, loc-tite sure as hell isn't going to hold it together at those speeds.

Re: lock tight or no lock tight (existanzcivicb20)

Whatever e-thug, if you were so smart then why didn't you look into ARP hardware if your friend is gonna "BEAT THE SHIT" out of the motor. And it's spelled "Loctite"

steveteggy92 05-16-2008 11:53 AM

I hate to see any honda motor ruined so...

Either use the ARP Moly lube that comes with the studs, and torque to their specs.

Or use 30w motor oil and torque to Honda OEM Specs.

Good luck...to your friend.

Re: (existanzcivicb20)

Amazing

d15Beta 05-17-2008 09:53 AM

that 95 crank could be better put to use ....

sigh.. another wasted crank (soon) lol

Re: (d15Beta)

Don't forget to put a little jb weld on the bearing back halves so you don't spin a bearing.

Re: (Phil M)

jesus...... take it to someone who knows what they are doing. Do not get near the inside of that motor. better yet.... drop any tool you have and take a class since you obviously have no idea what the hell your doing. Honestly save the headaches.

I am sure when this build fails, it will be Eagles fault. Or this has to be a troll thread, no one is really that dumb. I hope.
