Default knock knock knock knock knock

Problem fixed. My cluster/head unit started to dim out and my alternator died. I replaced it and that sound went away after beating on my car the same way i did before.

BUT, every time i pull on throttle cable for the rpm to go up the sound goes away then when it drops back down to normal idle RPM the sound comes back.

Possibly the beginning of a rod knock?
After beating on it,the oil is probably really hot ~ 250F. Hotter oil = thinner oil...
Oil cools a bit, slightly thickens(maybe) and knocking isnt as apparent...
Just a theory.
Id pull the pan and inspect the rod bearings...Dont want to ruin a good ITR engine...Might still be a chance to save it...

Do you have a oil pressure gauge installed? It'll tell you alot. Of course It sounds like low oil pressure. When is the last time you changed your oil? Did you use a oil filter with a 'poppit' valve in it? (The oil filter gets plugged and the oil pressure pops the valve open so the engine doesn't starve for oil) Some of your cheap filters don't have a poppit in them and they just plug up and don't open to allow oil to get to the rest of the engine. Hence your noise. Of course you never know it could just be somthing as dumb as a plugged oil pickup in the pan. You have some homework to do. But if it is knocking you need to fix it or say goodbye now.
