The only experience I have with ITB's is through having helped my team member with his on his built B16. For the most part it's an expensive time consuming investment that can hurt or help, depending on the individual attempting it..
He got his dialed in pretty well and from the addition he saw 20hp and 12lb-ft torque..that is just HIS situation though, i've heard of individuals who have LOSS HP using ITB's or flat out couldn't get them to work. His b16 is making your 220hp number but I assure its not just because of the ITB's..it's a total high compression build and he has the 13:1 compression this 7K motor your putting up has in spades and possibly alot more horsepower (I've yet to see his Dyno numbers but it's running 11's and it's mean..).
Basically to answer your questions..if properly done and with no hassles on getting them dialed in..yea ITB's are one helluva adder, but they can hurt just as much as they can harm if they're not done right.

jesus christ, IF IF IF IF IF's! Some guy in a recent magazine spent like $800 for a "rare jdm key hole light". TO EACH HIS OWN. some spend alot of money because, they simply can. They work for that money, who gives a F, its there money they worked for. Its not like he spent $7,000 on a used d15, i hate reading threads where its a bunch of re-re-retards posting if if ifs and BS useless answers. i guess thats why they make a killin off "i <3 haters" stickers and tshirts
