Re: (hotrod99)
i konw, for 7k you could buy the parts and even have a local machine shop assemble something that would murder that...'
u could do a 84x92, cc ported head, big cams, etc. etc. etc. setup for that, and then some

And another thing if you are going to spend 7K on a swap and havent looked into going Kseries than you my friend are a liar.
PLease dont try and make a case of why you wouldnt.
And before you say anything about me being a k-lover or something I am build a b-series myself.

I said something similar but the OP is more interested in paying 7K and having ITBS than having a motor that makes power and torque.
If the OP is running a displacement limited class then this motor makes sense. Otherwise, it is a waste of money.
Is it me but I see more and more guys more concerned with bling than performance. The Mugen thread comes to mind 1st.

Re: (hotrod99)
ahhh, let him waste his money... im sure he is getting a 220 ENGINE dyno graph...
thats not very exciting...
maybe 185-190 wheel? ish?
id believe that with killer tune...
and a stock b20z block/gsr head setup with a b16 trans would proly pull...
throw some pistons, and rodbolts in the block and youd have a faster car tahts just as reliable... not to mention, reliability is partially based on how someone takes care of thecar... a bearing will spin just as fast on your 7k $$$ b16 as it will on my gsr as long as i checked specs like your builder did (when u forget to check your oil)

Re: (d15Beta)
maybe im being too harsh on him, everyone doesnt have the time or knowledge to build a motor themselves...
i would still opt for a bigger block...

Re: (da.nizzle)
a lot of you guys are hating and its not right.
some people don't have the time to build a motor but they do have the money to buy one, for some people they are paying for piece of mind and thats ok with them, if its ok with him, let him be and just answer his damn question.
Now about the Mugen intake, i know a lot of people with CTR's and they love them, they say the throttle response is amazing and there is nothing better. However i have never heard anybody say it made the most power and i highly doubt it was even designed for max power, companies like mugen and spoon are not all about max power...
edit: wait posting the mugen ish on the wrong thread lol, you guys are still haters though...

that is way too much for a motor that only makes 220 whp. i dont care if every bolt, gasket, and parts are brand new never used. you could of purchased a gsr motor and had it rebuilt for less than 7k and been just as reliable as this mysterious "crate motor".

Re: (f@sth@tch89)
i could care less,if he wants to spend 7k for a 220hp honda motor then be my guest, the only thing that bothered me was he was trying to keep this so called shop a secret that doesnt even exist and posted pics of the engine that actually came from the king motorsports website...

how many DD b18s make over 220whp not many most are built. and maybe the gentleman doesnt feel like going through a build and would rather drop it in in a weekend. dont really see why youll bag on him for it. of course turbo makes more power always will. and yes the king site is where that pics from. king also states a 9.5k redline
#42
That b16 probably makes 190whp at the most.
I'll sell you my 200whp b18 for 4k, it has 1400 miles on it since I put it together, I'm in MD too!!
I also have dyno sheets proving da powerz.

Re: (Pippen_001)
Streetable 220+ whp is quite possible with a ported B16 head. The bottom end, however, will need a little...um...massaging, in addition to at least 11:1 compression.

Re: (FST GSR 1)
Yeah I really don't know why everyone is having a hard time believing a b16 can make more than 220whp. Granted, king Im sure engine dyno's those numbers. Where's bears ek? Im also sure at this point its a 1.7 liter.

MEAT PATTY
Re: (ZeroTraction)
Stupid pointless thread, but I have never seen a 220whp daily driver b16 with 1/4 times to back it up. Its probably possible but I have never seen one. When I mean daily driver I'm not talking about a weekend warrior you only drive to the track. I'm talking year round rain, snow, hurricanes ect....
*Most people realize its not worth the time or trouble shooting for that magical number*

Bears has been there less then a year, he wasn't around for the old days when they built these. That one in the picture has been sitting there for 2 almost 3 years I know for an absolute fact. I couldn't tell you how long before that its been there. Those pictures are even from the old building.
