What do ya'll think. I already have the QSD kit and B16 tranny, but I felt the H23 wont make power high enough in the RPMs for the short geared B16 tranny. I feel that motor is better suited to a GSR tranny because of that long 95 mm stroke, and I seen dyno comparisons where the power comes in earlier but at the end the H will make little more, and I know B16 trannies work with revving motors. Am I missing something cause my friends swear by those H23vtec bluetops.

I had a h23a in my eg hatch, it was amazing. Get the bluetop, the low end torque will throw through those gears pretty quick. And yes, VTEC on both cams.

If you run a 95 mm stroke doesn't mean it wont rev. Keep the b16 tranny its worth it having the short gears. It really depends on your header and cam setup that determines where it stops making power. People go h23 bottom for a reason its proven to make a ton more power. Just do a search and see. I'm running an 95 mm stroke as well. If you want any more info pm me.

what?

h23 is a great engine but with that b16 tranny you might have a extra shift to get down the track

The Euro R makes more power stock...But the H23A VTEC has that 95mm VTEC crank. It all depends on what you wanna do.

^^Is there something you know that I don't? Or are you just putting your foot in your mouth? There is a difference between the VTEC and non-VTEC cranks...Go ahead and search it. Bigger counter weights, and in this case, bigger mains also than the non-VTEC H23. Honda consciously builds cranks to handle the higher revs to what they believe is suitable. So yeah, when I say VTEC crank, I mean a beefed up crank that Honda intended for a VTEC motor. Report my post if you trully know that I'm wrong.

Edit: So how about I sig you for thinking I said something wrong?

My bad. I was under the impression that the H23vtec engine only had vtec on the intake side...

You will want the blue top because it has a vtec bottom end, that being said, the crank, mains, and it has under piston oil squirters

your first post used "VTEC crank" out of context and it made you sound like a ***. period. if it is a crank used in a vtec motor say so, otherwise your spreading misinformation. and no i was putting my foot in your mouth.........

The H23A VTEC is a widely unfamiliar motor. I've had to get used to using many redundant and seemingly "noob friendly" ways of describing it to people who are new to it. As such, I addressed my comment to a person who is new to this motor or maybe unfamiliar with differences such a motor entails. I can see how it can be read as a noob statement. However, just because it sounded stupid out of context, it doesn't mean you should assume I don't know better or the full picture. It would have been more appropriate for you to ask me to clarify instead you felt like you should act like a e-thug and not even provide any valid insight yourself. Which, if you were so knowledgeable, you should have known what I was possibly talking about anyway. It is in no way miss informative to make a distinction in Honda's wide array of cranks. It is miss informative to label my partial statement as "noobish/untrue", because people will believe there is no distinction at all. I'm done...Either noobs don't understand you or some jerk totally discredits you.
