How often to rebuild?
My friend and i were in a little bit of a discussion about high compression and etc ..and he was tring to tell me anything over 12:1 compression im goin to have to rebuild after everytime i go to the track ...my question is how often you you rebuild your motors ...when something breaks or goes wrong ...or after a certain amount miles/run or for you autoX guys Laps ...any input would be helpful ...

12:1 comp aint ****...you can run a reliable engine on 12:1 comp over 100k miles... if you were gonna use the engine for drag only i would rebuild once per season or when something breaks or wears out...
12:1 can be safely tuned. But you have to do just that. Tune it.

Hmmmm. Maybe with 12:1 compression a turbo...
It really depends how much other work has been done to the engine. High compression on its own doesn't tend to kill engines (unless it causes detonation).

yea i know ...they just understand that tuning is the key to a reliable motor and etc ... thanks for the replys ...anyone else have some input?
