akelly17 and K7-1Ktrevor Good job defending the thread. I did this setup 4 years ago and it work perfect. Some might say that it's a "Ghetto job modification." Imagine how the b20vtec, g23vtec and the h2b started. They started as a ghetto mod, but look at these inventions they work, why because they are light in our pockets, now they made kit for these product b/c people saw potential.

Sure, it's all in the perspective. We use what we have available. Everything is ghetto compared to a twin turbo V12 making 1000+ hp or an F1 engine.

Really, this mod saved the day for me. When I was still pretty new to the engine tech I had spent a bunch of money on LS cams but since I was still running an LS manifold it ran like total crap. I had access to the OBD0 B16 manifold and my engine has run awesome ever since.

And if you want to go down the road of "this is so ghetto" then I'd just have to point out that running non-VTEC is pretty ghetto too. But that's where I am. If you don't like it, post on another damned thread.

After you tap in a port for the coolant hose. What do you do for that other opening right beside it?

I assume you're talking about the EGR port. It must be plugged or you will have a horrendous exhaust leak.

I know this is old but I wanted to add my pics to maybe help further. This was a great write up.

I used Doorman part #090-026 1/4"-18 NPT plug. Tapped both ports and pipe thread sealant to tighten them up.

What do we use b16 or b18 intake manifold on b20 engine... what do we gain?

Better manifold design for higher rpms. The stock LS manifold doesn't perform too well above 6500.
