Its not about vtec engagement. its the fact that even with VTEC, you're not going to get these things to dial in properly, regardless of where you want VTEC to engage. When special camshafts are dialed in and tuned, the driver has little involvement as to where VTEC engages; its based upon where the tuner is seeing proper timing and transition to determine where optimal VTEC engagement needs to be.
You can't go from Type Rs to super aggressive cams like STAGE 2s on a turbo car without some dialing in and some dyno tuning.

It may not be engaging (all mechanical issues accounted for) because the cams aren't dialed in with this large turbo and bad backpressure issue.
Your turbo is not a 70 "trim". that is a different calculation all together. you need to measure the following components.

Thanks for the imput. i did find in Evans forum that the problem is the turbo manifold. so i have to remove them cams. i don't want to redo down pipe and hot side charge pipe. ill try to sell them or trade them for type r

Either get tuned or up your vtec crossovr till you can

I try tuning but cant because it breaks really bad. I think the guys here are right and even i found a archive post saying that this cams need full lenght manifold. I have to believe this because my car was running perfect before i swap the cams.
