i am running a clutch from a company called euro drive, they seemed pretty good in my buddies car (he ran 11.5) with his turbo setup but with my allmotor setup i have already broken one pressure plate (the springs to be exact) and they replaced it no-charge but it seems after a month or so i think the springs are shifted and may break again , is there more abuse on an allmotor setup on the clutch because there isn't as much power so we tend to hook up "harder" and thats the reason ??

what clutches have you guys been running....?? experiences???

i launch hard anywhere from 6-9000 rpm depending on the track, i also just started spining the motor past 9500 rpm and and my clutch broke.

im not sure what to do in my situation, i just broke my stage4 bully performance clutch or pressure plate this weekend, not sure what broke since i dident drop the tranny yet. i will find out tomorrow and let bully know what broke.

i need a clutch that can take over 200whp, high rpm launches on slicks.

any advise or recomendations other than tilton?

Springs in the pressure plate or disc going?

All motor race engines should have a solid lightweight disc for best perfomance and longevity.

springs in the Pressure plate,

if you look at a Pressure plate there are theses notches on the outside they have what they call them "springs" they look like small clamps what they do is help retract the diaphram ,

shant i will guarenty you 're problem will be the same.....

Good clutches like Action don't have these. If you leave them in the tweak sideways and hit the cover preventing the pressure plate to fully release. Your pedal will feel "springy" when this happens.

i am running one of these action clutches and have been shifting at 10,000+ for ***** and giggles. havent had any probs yet with my clutch. u guys might wanna give the action a try since u are breaking what u got

BTW- rocket, im in the market for a 6 puck unsprung kevlar face for my new project PM me with a price for the disc and bearings and alignment tool for a hydro trans

No website. KS-Motorsports.com is a big distributor of Action Clutch and they have good info on them. There's also an article on KS's site called Clutch 101 written by yours truly that exlpains alot about what a good clutch is all about.

Have him send it back and it will be fixed under warranty.

Just be advised that the tiltons rattle alot for those who are not totally hardcore.

people have 2 choices. buy traditional clutches and continue to break them
or buy one clutch. ever.

Road race? Straps usually let go on downshifts.

well etither we need a website (cause i have never heard of tilton) and or we need a list of recommended clutches with there website......how are ACT?

ACT heavy duty or extreme pressure plate with performance street disc or the 6-4 puck depending on how much Hp your putting out from what i hear the street disc can handle alot of power...

i droped the tranny today, found that i destroyed all 3 springs in the pressure plate (2 are missing and 1 was in the bell housing) and snaped all 3 pressure plate straps.

also found that that most of the flywheel bolts backed themselfs out and the 2 bolts that dident back out built up so much heat from the friciton that the crank and flywheel and 1 bolt welded together.

lastly, the crank pully bolt and keyway are missing and the crank pully is turned 180 degrees around and is seized.

im going to pull the oil pan to see the rod and main bearings to see the condition of them, i hope that none spun on me.

im also not sure if the crank is going to be out of balance now that the flywheel and crank welded.

I'll try to get some pictures if i can

ill also try to get the new dyno chart up to show that the cams were making nice power and torque to 10,000rpm

*shameles plug* EF-1 valvesprings are good to over 10,000 rpm

anyways, i havent broken a strap yet, but i also heel toe my shifts so i dont put alot of stress on the clutch when i shift. tilton=$$$ that i dont need to spend anyone look at the ATS multi-plate setups??

i just have the simple action 1md, its a really nice clutch been shifting at 9k and hasnt had any problems, for a street clutch i would say that the action 1md would be great, for a full race clutch if your not a beleiver in action then go all out and get a tilton, there like 1500$ to start and then the really nice ones are like 3k or something (these are the prices i got from a shop where i live) but you will never have to replace the full clutch...
