Head built, higher compression the ITBs along with e85 did lower my mpg significantly but the midrange was worth it as it isn't my daily.

If your tps is funky your tune could probably use some work unless you mean your tps is actually messed.
Definitely a bit harder to tune, alpha-N is definitely the way to go
