Default Fully built NA H23 260HP - valve cover venting

Hi guys!

I have fully built H23 with 260 HP
95mm stroke
13:1 CR
Skunk2 Pro1 cams
70mmTB
EuroR manifold
Hytech replica header

Is OEM PCV system sufficient for my engine or i need to add valve cover venting like another supercharged engines?

Thank you

I'd say it depends on a few things, the piston to wall clearance, ring gap and amount of blow by you have would all factor in. I plan on running an exhaust Venturi to help pull crank case pressure from my turbo build im working on. It certainly wouldn't hurt if your bored and need a project. I'd recommend definitely doing a vented catch can with drain backs to the back of the block instead of the valve cover though.

Also I don't like running crank case ventilation back into the intake manifold. Oil vapor will make knock more likely to occur.

Are you spending most of your time at WOT or driving around the streets?

If you are @ WOT a lot of the time then an open ventilation or an exhaust scavenging crank case vapor system will work.

If you are driving on the streets and you only rely on engine pressure from inside the block you're not going to get rid of the harmful acids that can build up in your oil. N/A engines require assistance with ether a closed vacuum system or an air pump system for proper crank case ventilation.

Car is for street driving. So OEM pcv system is good enough for my setup?

Yes. Now if you want to keep oil out of your intake, install a closed oil catch can in the PCV system. There is no need to fabricate a drain for the oil back into the block if you don't want to. I check mine and empty it every now and then. Never really amounts to much more than a teaspoon every month or two.
