frankenstein?

I've got a complete type r block in my back yard. the question is will my jdm b16a2 head bolt right on or will there have to be some machine work done to the dowl pins to fit like on the ls. also would i be losing alot of horsepower by doing this opposed to the type r head. thanks https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

to answer your questions...

1. yes it will bolt right on, the type r head is derived from the same casting as the b16 head.

2. no dowel pins or anything like that, its not like an ls/vtec.

3. You would lose a decent amount of power over the type r head but thats mainly due to the type r's cams and valvetrain. The slight p&p from the factory on the type r head is b.s. And here, its time for the myth buster.....

THERE ACTUALLY IS NO P&P FROM THE FACTORY ON THE TYPE R HEAD, ITS JUST SOME MINOR BOWL WORK.....

go ahead, correct me til the cows come home, but when i get un-lazy, ill post up some proof....

pls do so. I believe you, but I would love to make refrence to proof of this. I suspect their might be some minor port matching, but other than the valve job thats probably it.

Re: (-KangaRod-)

Honda blends the valvepockets and uses necked down valve stems on the intake . Keep in mind this was a mass produced part , so the results varied is minor .
