Default few probs with my all motor b20...any advice would help

Ok, let me start this off by saying, i am running a B20 Vtec with a B16 head and the check engine light is NOT on , so that eliminates the possibility of sensors. Now, with that said, what happend is i had broken a valve in my head i got it all fixed and reaplaced, but the head back on the car, all hoses and wires are connected put everything else back together and timed the car and while i had the valve cover off i adjusted the valves to the stock B16 valve lash, ever since i have done this my car has run like ragged *** what it dose is when ever i excellarate(not even really getting on it) the car sounds like its blowing a **** ton of extra exhaust like there might be a bad gasket or something, and when i get to about 4.5k the car stops pulling what so ever and the rpms dont even go up after that. i have rechecked all the sensors, and plugs/houses about a billion times, the only other thought i have is, because i have after market cams and valve springs, that the valve lash or even the timing might need to be set different if anyone has any advice please help...
I have tried retiming the car...it made no change at all, i have talked to a few people that say valve lash really has nothing to do with it, and i also talked to comp cams cam help lime and they said the valve lash should have nothing to do with it as well...im going to try doing a compression test on the car tomarrow to see if the head gasket is blown or not...if anyone has any othe rideas pleas share them with me, thanks

i have heard of valve lash being to tight and causing some problems. try re-adjusting them to the "looser" side of the stock b16 specs.

also try a compression test just to be safe.....

Many cams even, simi-agressive street cams have a loose lash, just go to the looser end of the B16 lash and work from there.

good luck

i did the compression test, it read about 265 in all four cylinders...so thats fine, will try valve lash tomarrow, but i also heard that if the valve lash was all fucked then it wont run for **** at idle eather

well what pistons are you using. stock ? well if you are using stock pistons then make sure you notch them on the intake side to make room for the larger intake valve...that the whole reason you prbly droped one in the first place....check this web site out http://www.inportbuilder.com ....good people that know what they are doing...

could also be some sort of fuel delivery problem. i had the same thing happen to me on my b20, i could run it up to around 4k with a little hesitation, and then about 4.5k it would bog real bad. i checked my fuel pressure and found it to be really low. i found out i was losing pressure at the rail from the cap. just a thought.

sounds like you put the timing belt on wrong.

I would recommend checking about 5 times to see if it is on right.

i rechecked the timing belt like 5 times, and i know thats right...i was also thinking that it might have something to do with the ecu/wiring harness...im gunna try getting a replacement p28 just to plug it in and see what it dose, also i took the caps off the computer and smelled a burnt resistor...so that might be my prob right there.
