Eating oil/stalling

Eating oil/stalling
I have a 2001 Honda Civic LX with the 1.7L non Vtech @ 190K that is burning oil like crazy, 2 quarts a week! A large cloud of bluish smoke comes out of the back when I start it up after its been sitting for a several hours, don't think its the head gasket, there's no coolant in the oil, however there is oil in the coolant. I replaced the valve stem gaskets and that didnt fix it, I did it without taking the head off by the way.
Could it be the piston rings, I also read that this engine can become porous around 170K-190K?
Also the other day the car stalled while I was driving on the highway and I had to have to towed home. I was driving for about 10 mins and then all of a sudden it had very little power and then randomly stalled, luckily its a stick so I just started it up and it got going again. Once I got off the highway and was at a stop light it stalled again, turned the key and it started right up but then would stall immediately. After a couple time it would just turn over trying to start, id have to press the gas down all the way and then it would start for a couple seconds and then stall again. I had to towed back to my house. Tried today again and it started right up and idled fine but now there is a knocking noise in the engine and again after about 10 mins of running it would stall.
Replaced the spark plugs and temp sensor, still does it. Fuel injectors maybe clogged from burning all the oil? Any ideas?
Thanks

Sounds like the rod slipped a bearing from being starved from oil. Time to replace the engine or rebuild it.

"Not a head gasket...oil in the coolant." Yeah sorry, it was a head gasket. And at this point you may well have a toasted engine. Time for a new(used) engine!

headgasket and probably your rings are going as well. You might want to check that out very quickly. The starving probably a clog in the idle control on the tb or intake.
