Dyno: Skunk2 Pro3 vs Pro2 vs BC5
Installed some Pro3's last week and did a rough tune last night. Fuel is 90% tuned, could be better, very little ignition tuning (used my Pro2 map as a basemap), no cam gear tuning, left them at +2/+5 where the Pro2's liked them.
Both the Pro2's and BC5's were fully tuned, fuel, ignition, and cam gear. *ignore the run titles, forgot to reset them* Pro3 (blue) vs Pro2 (red) https://i107.photobucket.com/albums/...2vsPro3_UC.jpg Pro3 (blue) vs BC5 (red) https://i107.photobucket.com/albums/...ro3vsBC5-1.jpg *note* BC5's were on when I had a 65mm T1R, only change in the setup Relevant Info: 85mm Benson Sleeved B18C -87.2 GSR Crank micropolished/balanced -85mm 12:1 CP Pistons -Eagle H-Beams ITR PR3 head -85mm chambers -milled .008" -3 angle valve grind -Supertech Valves -Supertech Springs/Retainers Comptech Race Header T1R 70mm exhaust Password JDM CF Intake stock ITR TB stock ITR IM Tuned on Crome Pro I did not use a degree wheel to install them, was in a time crunch, but as a side note, I wouldn't run these cams at 0,0 unless they were degreed properly, they're big, if you are in a hurry, you can always advance the exhaust cam to help prevent V2V and P2V. BTW she idles and warms up like stock. |
Re: Dyno: Skunk2 Pro3 vs Pro2 vs BC5 (92TypeR)
Wow, the Pro3's absolutely killed the 5's by basically dropping them in!? Great info, thanks again! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Nice test Marshall. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif
Question. Do you think the BC5's would have improved significantly if they were dyno'd with the 70mm T1R system? Also, was there any room to degree them? |

Re: (SMSP)
i tuned a car last night that made 240.8 on pro2's.......we were talking about how the pro3's would act last night in comparison. this makes me very interested

Re: Dyno: Skunk2 Pro3 vs Pro2 vs BC5 (92TypeR)
Nice numbers https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif Interesting comparison between the Pro 2's and the Pro 3's.
What's funny is that when we were still running our B series engine program in Project Beta, we were only using Tuner Series Stage 3's. Wish we would have had our Pro Series 3's back then lol Thanks for sharing https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif |

Thanks for the information

Re: Dyno: Skunk2 Pro3 vs Pro2 vs BC5 (mar778c)
But,but, but, it's only 12-1 you are way over-camed, BC5,s and Pro 3's will never run on that motor. Even Pro2's are too big, the biggest is a BC4, I know, I have read it on H-T. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif Nice job, retard the IN. a hair.

Re: Dyno: Skunk2 Pro3 vs Pro2 vs BC5 (DonF)
Any idea how Jun 3's compare in this same motor?
Was 12:1 the actual calculated ratio or just a certain shelf piston you used? How big did the chamber end up being? Thanks for posting your results https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |

Thanks for posting your results https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif </TD></TR></TABLE> OTS CP 12:1 pistons. I did not CC my chambers after the work was finished. Judging from the ignition timing I can run @ WOT, I'm guessing between 11.7-12.0:1. Chambers were only enlarged around the valve reliefs to aid in cylinder filling and low-lift flow. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Chillinit »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Nice test Marshall. I'd imagine roughly the same with the BC5's, probably close to 230whp. I'm confident I can push into the 230's with a better fuel curve an actually touching ignition/camgear timing. I'm excited to see how much power this motor can make with an actual 2.0L header and a good IM/TB setup...not bad for a cookie-cutter build https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |
Re: (Turbo-charged)
off topic but, $450 for my set of Pro2's......... https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

Re: (b20vtech)
im supprised there was such a large difference in your dyno in the favor of the pro3's when b19 did the same basic comparison with a similar motor and the pro3's didnt really outperform the pro2's at all. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1786276
i mean i belive what i see but this looks more like a pro1 vs pro2 dyno comparison to me.... |
