Decision to go either 82 or 83mm
Last year, I had my motor lightly built. Consequently, I had problems with the motor, the leak down test showed there was a problem, and vertical lines along the cross hatches confirmed my problem. Well to make a long story short (and leaving out the drama of the car scene), the shop genuinely felt bad and decided to front the funds for all the labor. However, I agreed to put in for an parts and now I'm debating if I want to go 82 or 83mm bore on stock sleeves. The car is a daily driver and I do use my car for "spirited" driving. Anyone have experience going 83 on stock sleeves?
Here's the basic break down of my block (no pun intended):
B18C1
Stock crank
stock rods
Cast Nippons p30
On a side note, I'm going forged pistons.
Thank you in advance, Honda Heads.

You can't bore a stock sleeve past 82mm. I would look for some 11.5-12:1 pistons to put on the stock rods.
Just curious, why are you set on forged pistons? A good cast piston will be fine for your build and save you a few $$$

However, I assume there is several good reasons to go forged:
1) I'm getting a good price on them.
2) Thermal properties are better on forged (pls correct me if I'm wrong).
3) My inner 18 year old self wants to try squeezing at the track.
Should I also consider a blockguard if the motor is going to be 1mm over?
Also, 11.1 would be the highest I go, because I'm in the land of 91 octane.
